I've never heard of a cake camp. Can you tell me where it will be held and where you live. I live in GA and might be interested.

Yes, I'd be interested in where the camp is as well if you don't mind. My grandchildren (oh yeah, my son and DIL too) live in Visalia! Is the camp near you? GREAT excuse to do a visit!

did you know that if you dont stay at the riviera ($119 a night) they charge you extra?

That was the case last year, that's why I didnt go, which sux because what about if I lived there?

From the website:

Do I have to stay at the Riviera Hotel?
No. However, those attendees who do not stay on-site will be assessed a $75 classroom fee in addition to the registration fee. The hotel is providing classrooms free of charge provided we book enough rooms at the hotel, otherwise we will be charged a penalty.

Do I pay the Registration Fee if I am already a 3C's member?
Yes. The Registration Fee for members is $125.00 unless you register by July 1st 2009, which is the Early Bird Deadline, where the fee is only $100.00.

Does the Registration Fee make me a member?
The registration fee along with the mandatory membership fee of $20 makes you a member. As a member, you receive a great newsletter 6 times a year. Members also receive advanced notification of quarterly meetings and the Cake Camp. The California Cake Club grants scholarships at quarterly Meetings that are awarded to members only.

plus the classes, plus food, transportation, etc.

good luck! I wish I could afford it

If you live in vegas all you have to do is show I.D. and the fee is waved. I thought the registration was only $100 with a discount for early registration but I'll have to double check that. There is a $75 class fee if you don't stay register through the cake club, but there's another thread about this and someone said you can save more than that if you book through expedia or another site like that. I hope to go just hoping I can afford it.

I'm going too. I already have my room at the Riviera which I paid for months ago but even with the 75. room fee through CC it's still a good savings. I have the room Thurs, Fri & Sat night and would only ask for half the room fee of $85.00. Any way I'm in Riverside and would like to have a ride along and or room mate. My girlfriend (non cake crazy) was going to go up with me but now may back out since she'll be solo most of the time. If your interested let me know.
Thanks,

Actually for SoCal CCers I was thinking about getting a vanpool together to help fray the cost of gasoline. I was planning on leaving Montclair about 11 a.m. on Thursday. That should get us there in time to check in and still get to the meet & greet.

I finally signed up for cake camp today! I'm coming from northern ca. Don't need a room or anything since I have family there, I was just hoping to meet some CCers there. Hope to see you there.
