I am looking for a cupcake stand like the ones that The Pink Cake Box uses. I can't drive down and buy one from them or I would... . I have been searching and haven't come up with something that was quite right. Does anyone know what brand it is or of something similar that's not a gazillion dollars?

It is not the same but could be an option for you.

And the second idea - reverse engineering of the stand you wanted.
You need - PVC pipe (home depot), and cake boards in diferent sizes. I would go for the most stable variant, cake boards from wooden circles. In the center of each circle, glue small circle which holds the pipe (or perhaps even sprayed tin can). The upper most and the bottom board have this circle on one side only, all the others on both sides. This holds the cake board on the pipe or can. The little circles need to be higher than in the drawing and fit very tight in the pipe.

And you need somebody who builds it for you

The Pink Cake Box sells cupcake stands although they are pretty pricey. I'm sure they would ship it to you.

I love them all!

I just bought the one that flour pots posted, but I got the 8 tier stand. I paid $104.00 for it and that included shipping and the stand. It's a beautiful stand and it's made very well. I'm glad that I got it. I can use it for everything because I got the clear one so it will match all decor.

I think the home-made stand is a brilliant idea, save that much money to buy something else and make it whatever style you want!

Helen... do you have one? Are they heavy? Do they come apart? I would need it to be able to be disassembled so I could store it. Which is part of the reason I don't want to make them. You'd need to get reinforcements for the screw holes so that you didn't strip them.

The decopac one is almost right. It doesn't have a base though... and I really would prefer that it did.

The one I have, and ADORE, is the one from www.bossmanufacturing.com It's not light, it's a heavy metal stand, but sturdy as heck and yes, it dismantles....but I never let my clients do that. They did at first and kept bringing it back to me with parts missing! Bad idea.
