What's Your Favourite Dessert? Mine Is Cake!

I'm curious what everyone's favourite desert is. Mine, unfortunately, is cake!! Just plain white cake with buttercream icing! I'm saying "unfortunately" because I love to make cakes, but I can't resist snacking on the icing. I'm trying to lose weight and it's so hard because I love to make cakes, but also eat cakes. Does anyone else have this problem? What do you do? Thanks!
I used to love cake but not really anymore. I never thought that would happen but I'm tired of cake (it did take a few years tho) Now I usually go for the freshly baked double chocolate chocolate chip cookies with ice cream and hot fudge sauce....yum!!
i do love cake - namely proper choc cake and ice cream!
or hot cookie dough and ice cream, pizza hut does it, its the best £3 ever!
xx
I don't eat cake, except to test taste a small bit... it's not my thing.
You are going to think this is weird (or gross), but I LOVE to dip my biscuits (vegan animal cookies) in my hot tea! That is one luxury I allow myself everyday - two pots of tea and a few of those... so relaxing!
My husband is completely grossed out by this, but I don't care... people dip things in coffee, why not tea?
I would have to agree I'm grossed out with cakes but at the same time I love to eat them. I eat cake till it comes out of my ears. Booohooo Maybe I should join cakes anonymous.
my fav dessert to decorate is cake (that's kind of a duh, ain't it) My fav dessert to eat is cheesecake.... man do I love cheesecake
and choc chip cookies straight out of the oven
and brownies
I love a good pie: coconut custard, lemon meringue, egg custard, dutch apple
A close second would be ice cream: Edy's cookie dough, Bryers Heath toffee, Klondike bars
I used to love cake, but not anymore.
I love a good chocolate cupcake filled with nutella and topped with chocolate buttercream.
Chocolate chocolate chocolate!
Unfortunately I still love it too.
It's a tie between a pucker packin' lemon meringue pie and tiramisu. I like combination desserts....crunchy/cream type things and oh I do love that apple crisp dessert from Applebee's
Cinnabons
Hot out of the oven. Can smell them for a mile all around the mall. I don't dare try to make them at home.
Cheesecake! It's so EVIL!
but I don't care much for regular cake which makes this a very good hobby for me. Although my DH yells as me for making things cause then he eats them.
My favorite is ice cream, but that doesn't I won't settle for a slab of yellow cake with chocolate icing....Mmmmmmm
Uber fudgy brownies straight from the oven with vanilla ice cream. (insert drooling emoticon here)
K2cakes, I don't think that sounds gross or weird at all! I love cookies and tea. One my best friends is Irish and in college she introduced me to the wonderful world of McVities and Earl Grey tea. Delish!
I love cake with ice cream, but my favorite is a sheet cake my beloved MIL use to make. It is made with a big flat sheet pan and it's like a cake type brownie with a kind of a thin layer of icing, that puts me in mind of a candy fudge. It is very light, so light I could eat 3 pecies before I know it.
A pineapple delight pie, my mom would make it with cherries when I was a young girl. Not caring much for cherries, I replace them with pineapple, and I have also done then with strawberries. I can eat a whole one of these in one day Thats why I only make them maybe 3 to 4 times a year, come to think of it everyone in my family can eat a whole pie
These two things would be neck to neck in a race
God Bless,
Sharon
Cool Whip Pudding Cake. Simple, fresh, versatile and OH so good. family fav for 30+ years. "Recipe" from an old newspaper.
Back when I used to eat desserts (3 years ago) my favorite was the hot brownie cake that made it's own chocolate sauce with vanilla ice cream. Sooooo good.
I'm not all that into desserts... sweets just aren't my thing, but if I do have something I like something tart and fruity. Ice cream with a berry compote would be good... or a lemon sorbet. I have never liked eating cake and now making them for a living... no thanks I'll pass.

I don't think it's gross!! Probably because I do the same thing except that I make Chai at least 2x a day and love 2 dunk cookies in them. I also love dunking chocolate chip or oreo cookies in milk too..

Did someone say cheesecake??? Once I got over the fact that it was ok to have cheese or veggies (ie carrots) in a cake I was hooked (okay so I was just a kid back then .
I've yet to make one don't want to spoil it for myself but I'm definitely thinking of trying to make one for myself for my bday this weekend. Got any good recipes????
oohhh ilove cheesecake, pavlova and a sucker for cream filled brandy snaps yuummmmm... and as for dipping bikkies in tea i think it is gross when they are dipped in coffee hehe tea all the way..
Ooooh... how could I forget about pav!! mmmmmm I made some the other day for my kiddos' potluck dinner... so good!
I crave desserts: Carrot cake, cheesecake, Mrs. Smith's lemon cream pie, pink coconut snowballs(chocolate cake with cream centers) anything with chocolate, pineapple and coconut UM UM
Mine is yellow cake with yummy real butter icing(it all has to be scratch),and of course rich vanilla icecream.
I'm not super big on chocolate (except for Halloween candy), but love making and cooking with it. I'm a weird one and take more joy in making it for others to enjoy. I know, weird.
Have always loved white wedding cakes, good cheesecakes, lemon anything. Not crazy about cookies in general. And only like brownie edges.
I looked up Pavlova and it sounds really interesting. I've heard of it before but always thought it was like baklava. Guess not! If one of you ladies has a tried and true recipe and would care to share, please post! It sounds very interesting and when I looked it up, looks delicious with fruit topping.
This thread has me drooling! I have quite a few favorites. They've changed since I started decorating cakes. I used to LOVE cake and eat it at every occasion.
Now, I would prefer an apple fritter, pumpkin empanada, cheesecake, fresh out of the oven chocolate chip cookie, or bizcochos.

Oh! I forgot about empanadas! My bf's mom makes the most amazing pineapple empanadas... and with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream they'll make you wanna slap somebody!
imake this recipe all the time when we have potluck dinners etc.. out of a cookbook of course i'mnot quite that clever but its yummy..
PAVLOVA
3 egg whites
3 TBlspns cold water
1 cup Castor sugar
1 tspn vinegar
1 tspn vanilla essence
3 tspns cornflour
Beat the egg whites until stiff, add cold water and beat again. Add castor sugar very gradually while beating. slow beater and add vinegar, vanilla and cornflour. Place on a greased paper on greased tray and bake at 150'C (300'F) for 45 minutes, then leave to cool in the oven.
Very important DONT open the oven at any stage as it will fall flat. Once it is completely cold take from the oven.. it may have cracks in it and hollow inthe middle but thats the best bit hehe.. then cover with whipped cream and either fresh fruit like strawberries or tinned peaches etc and even better is a crumbled up chocolate flake hmmm yummmm.
hope you enjoy and if you double the recipe it fits just nicely inside a 16" square tin hehehe as it will spread.
