I've probably made a dozen different cut-out cookie recipes over the years and still have not found one I love. Would like a recipe that makes a sturdy enough cookie for mailing and/or a bouquet but not hard and crunchy. A little chewy softness without being too soft. Thanks for your help.
If you haven't tried it already, try Peggy Porschen's recipe. I would give it to you, but we're in the middle of a move and my recipe box is packed. You can find it online though. Just look up Peggy Porschen. I personally think it is more of a shortbread than a sugar cookie. I have had rave reviews of it, both decorated with glace and undecorated.
