I use a 2 oz ice cream scoop and level it off after scooping the batter.

Thanks for the information. I've been wondering what the Easter Bunny could put in my basket. I have a larger scoop but it doesn't work well--too much batter. So I think the Easter Bunny will have to put a few cake decorating things in my basket and the scoop will be one of my requests. ( In our house everybody gets a basket )
