There are many, many beautiful bridal shower cakes with a bridal dress, made of fondant, on top. Will someone share how the folds are made in the dress? Could it be a large piece of rolled fondant with something underneath to cause it to fold? Some of them are folded flat, have you seen them, do you know what I mean. I would love to know how that is done. It kind of looks like trianges. Thanks so much.

Post a picture of the cake and it will be easier to get help on how it was done.

I know the cakes you mean. I believe they are individually cut pieces that are place in an overlapping pattern to appear as folds. One of the people that made one of those cakes wrote that explanation when asked how it was done.

I did a wedding dress cake. I used layers of basically triangles each one smaller than the other.

Hope this helps,
Vicki

Hi Vicki, Yes, thank you so, so much. That is exactly what I was looking for. My daughter is getting married in August, and I will be making her "shower cake". I appreciate your sharing so much. Cassie
