Awesome tutorial - the best I've seen! Pictures really do make all the difference.

One question though: will this look okay if I make clear bottles, instead of green or brown? I'd like to try but have never made any sugar creations like this. Not sure if the sugar will stay clear enough or will come out cloudy/yellowish/etc.

I'm also going to seach for a tutorial on making the ice...lots of good suggestions in this thread.

Thanks all!

Awesome tutorial. My daughter is a big tailgater and would really like one of these cakes for football season next year. How did you do the labels? and the ribbon on the neck of the bottle?

I have two questions for you! I have the amazing putty - I assume it's the same as they stuff you used? What was the clay for? Also, is the mold completely filled with sugar or is it hollow? I can't wait to see the finished cake!

My question...at what point do you rest the bottle in the clay support . First time I tried these bottles...the tops were a little deformed. I'd like to try it with the clay support...but is it suppose to rest on it while I'm spinning the bottle with the hot sugar in it?
