debi..are you kidding me? Your cakes are so Gorgeous! I was just telling my hubby that you,edna,leahs, and sugarshack are the queens of cc. I would love to be half as good as any one of you. Hopefully with more practice I will be!!

Aaahhhhwwwww, thanks Pipe-Dreams! You made me feel a lot better. I like the whole "extreme" idea of it. Me and "pretty" don't always get along! LOL!!!

But, like I said, the other gals got contacted right away. Soooo....I'm thinkin' they want "beautifully extreme," and that's not me.

Seriously though, even though I am kickin' my own butt, I am actually cheering my fellow friends here at CC!! It's about time this group gets recognition! Bake On!!!!

Thanks, Cakes UL, but I don't do cakes often enough to get the practice I need and the competition is really stiff with Edna and Indydebi. Nope, I'm not worthy! Besides I'm one of those thinkers. I need time to work. The clock is not my friend, so a competition of this sort probably would leave me looking like a fool. (Then again, I've never entered a competiton before anyway, so any competition would probably have the same results! lol).
I'm still amazed they haven't called you yet, but I'm sure they will soon.

Edna, you have a great TV presence and I think you should enter. I'm sure they let you get familiar with the tools and things provided. It would be great to see some of you on TV! I think most of you here are better than the ones on the Challenges!

Good luck to everyone! I sent in my info yesterday, heard back this morning and am moving forward with it....this is so exciting!!! Cake Central is where it all started for me 18 months ago, its so cool to see some of my CC hero's going for it!

Yes, but nobody wants to feel like a fool though.
As for me, I feel I'm a good judge of my work and I see many faults (I know, I know.....we're our own worst critic, but I really feel I have more fine tuning) so I would never put myself in that position. Plus I know the way I work and I hate being rushed.
There are many talented people on this board and I think if you need an honest opinion on your work you can probably get it from members of the Critique Group. (I'm not brave enough. lol)
I still think this is so exciting. Oh, and if I'm in the "background" as an assistant, that wouldn't bother me, so if anyone needs one..........
Although my entry was fueled by pain killers - I'm really glad that I did it. I mean - I don't have anything to prove, I'm the only one that knew I sent the email in, if I didn't hear from them, oh well! It wasn't for me then. I say - send the email, you never know!! Look at ME! I certainly didn't think that I would hear back!!
Plus, what the guy told me is that it will be an 8 to 10 episode series and each episode will have 3 different contestants (so you would only be on one episode) - I think the "extreme" part is that you won't know what kind of cake you are decorating or the event that it is for - so you have to plan, create and decorate on the fly - quickly. I don't think that they mean you have to build a dragon cake that can fly and spit fire.
