I assume that making the cake in front of an audience is part of the competition (like food network challenges?) That would be the scary part for me, I am no good under pressure! Plus I feel like i never know what I am doing, but somehow it gets done.

They never said anything to me about being in front of an audience - but that doesn't mean it won't be!

I did a bit of a search and I think? I've found the site for this contest. It looks like they have a voting system we can use. You vote for your favorite decorator. It does add that the votes don't guarantee anyone a spot on the show tho. Check it out.. I did see cakesunleashed on the list, thats what makes me think its the right one.

(passing the tissues to K8memphis) no no...I didn't change my mind about the radio thing. I have to think about the entry thing again and again and again(they haven't even contacted me..but I still need to think just in case they do) if that is, in fact, the same thing as Joyfull4444 shared....

Try not to laugh and throw tomatos at me, but I sent in an email with new photos of portrait cakes I've done. I guess I thrive on rejection...it motivates me.

Okay, I'd probably have my a$$ handed to me by most of you here, but I sent in my e-mail today. Makes me feel a little like throwing up on my shoes just sending in the e-mail! Hard to imagine I'd survive with a camera shoved in my face, but what the heck. It'll be fun to see what happens.

ok ruth0209, i did the same thing and feel the same way. I'll probably get my butt handed to me. I figure, what do I have to lose?! I don't know how I'd do with a camera in my face, but you know what? You only live once. I'm proud of what I do, and I know I'm getting better and better at my craft. So, I applied. If I hear from them, great. If not, there are going to be more competitions out there! Good luck to everyone! And remember, it's only sugar. Have fun with it!

I'd like to know if that website is an "official" part of the contest. It seems weird to me...Some of the "entries" have sexy photos of themselves on there. I don't understand it exactly. Just a little weird. Am I the only one?

When will an announcement be made about who is sponsoring this and who is being officially considered? Every one of you who have submitted an interest should be candidates because you're all so very good! Can't wait!

*Not to change the subject, but....did you see the new challenge starting on Food Network next week? 'Last Cake Standing'.....a showdown of some of the best that have previously been on various FN cake competitions...

That web site said the deadline to apply is 5/18, I think. It also said you would be given a theme about two days before you have to create the cake.

I don't know if any of that is accurate, but they probably just copied it from the official source.

I applied for the wedding cake challenge that is for 5/2 and 3 on the www.realitywanted.com website, so you guys can go there and vote for any of us CC'ers who sign up.

We'll see what happens...if it sounds like too much drama, then I won't be interested, but DH says I should try it no matter what...

Has anyone heard back today? Also, is the Reality Wanted website actually in association with the competition? Or are they just posting all casting calls looking for members (and fees)? I looked for you Stef, but didn't see you... am I missing something? Or did you apply for the other one (on WE)?
