This May Seem Like A Dumb Question But....

I just started working with BC and dont really know much about it, can I attach fondant pieces to it? Do I use the same extract or alcohol as I would with fondant on fondant?
Also, can I hand paint BC once it is crusted and dry?
thanks for the help!!
I am very new to this (about a year) I have seen BC cakes with fondant accents . I have done fondant roses on top of BC Cakes and that works just fine. I wouldn't use anything to attach because the butter cream has enough moisture to attach, I don't think I would use anything too heavy. The one I saw was a Bow and dots. Hope I was some help.
I'm a newbie too...
But yes, you can use fondant accents on buttercream. I use a bit of meringue powder with a bit of water to attach my fondant pieces.
I'm pretty sure you can paint buttercream once it's crusted. But I have never done this. I'll leave this one to the pro's.
Good Luck!
It is difficult to point b'cream -even crusted. You must use a very light touch and even then it can be a problem.
Depends on what you are wanting to paint.
