Kneadacookie-OMG! Your cookies are amazing as usual! The giving tree is my favorite children's book. I give it at every baby shower I attend. I still cry when I read it.
So funny just this morning my daughter and I were reading a book together and I was looking at the pictures and thought they would make a cute cookie bouquet. My butter is softening now....give me til thursday cuz today and tomorrow are killers for after school activities.
freddyfl - Thankyou.
I will pm Admin now and ask about a seperate Cookie of the Month Gallery....then when i hear back from them i will post the reply here.
Bluehue.
Even if we can't get a new Gallery maybe we could just make sure that everyone puts in there title or description that it is for the cookie of the month or something, that way when people do a search they will come up. Not sure if it would work.?? Just a thought!
Well, your month is May.....you can start it early if you want, but I would probably wait until the middle of April before you do. I started this one for April early since it is new in order to get people's creative juices flowing.
this weekend i will start a new thread with a new theme. i don't know if we should use easter or not. i mean people will definitely have cookies, but i don't know. i guess i'd like something different.....we'll see....
I love the idea of a cookie club. I am very new to cookies and would love an excuse to practice.
To clarify April will be for the book cover cookies and then kneedacookie will pick the theme for May? Is that correct?
I feel like I'm on a merry go round...is it favorite book into cookies for April suggested by freddyfl and May TBA by kneadacookie?

Yep.
Well girls, here are my pink hippos, I hope you like them, Cbya http://cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1336079&done=1
CBYA those hippos are so cute! What book are they from? I love the two tones of pink that you used!
My daughter wanted a pink hippos theme for her baby shower and we didn't find anything except for the invitations, so, I got the idea from there and I cut out by hand thank youuu
Ok, I know its not April yet, but I baked this weekend, dont know if I'll get to this week...busy, busy, busy. Anyway, my daughter loves the book The Runaway Bunny by Margaret Wise Brown and I really love the page where he says "I'll be a crocus in a hidden garden"
Yes, I used tulips and a brown bunny, but thats the inspiration. It also got me thinking about other books and sources for inspiration.....
very pretty and it fits perfectly for a book theme. I still have yet to make mine. I had my son's birthday party this weekend, this week is spring break, so I am hoping to get them done at some point during the week. I already have the dough all made, just need to get my but in gear and do it. =) Maybe I will do a cookie day with the kids. THey would love that.
I don't have a photo for various reasons ... but I made cookies inspired by "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" for my older DS' preschool birthday party.
For those who aren't up on their preschool literature (), the book goes "Brown bear, brown bear, what do you see? I see a red bird looking at me ..." And so on and so forth through the red bird, yellow duck, green frog, blue horse, purple cat, white dog, black sheep, goldfish ...
There were cookies for each animal in the appropriate colors. They were so cute! Wish I had a pic.
There are cookies inspired by "Corduroy" in my pics, too.
If I can find the time this week, I'm thinking about making "Goodnight Moon" cookies. It's one of my usual baby shower gifts and I'm thinking a basket of cookies with a book would be a great present ... hmmm ...
the corduroy cookies are adorable. i have to do cookies for a hungry caterpillar baby shower on the 25th. we'll see what i can come up with.... i'm trying to figure out how to get the icing to look painted like it does in the book. glace icing doesn't paint well like royal does.
Thanks, kneadacookie...yes the polka dots are on the ribbon its a sheer green ribbon tied to each cookie stick and then thewhite/pink polka dot grosgrain around the basket.
So, I know that I just started this thread, but there is a good possibility that my 10 month old son has cancer, so I might not be able to participate in this as I had envisioned. Would someone be willing to step up and take the reigns so to speak? If I get the chance I will add photos and participate. Thanks.
freddyfl - I am so sorry to hear that. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
I would be happy to "take the reigns" until you are ready to take them back. Just pm me and let me know what you want me to do.
Bonnie

You're living my worst nightmare! I can't even begin to think how you handle something like this....sober. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Thanks for the prayers...we go in for overnight observation tomorrow. The hemotologist is reffering us to infectious disease? I have no idea what is going on, all I want is some answers. Now would be nice.....=) She said that it didn't sound like she needed to see him. All I know is something is wrong and I want to know what it is.
I am so sorry for all you and your son have to go through. I hope you get an answer soon. Not knowing is always worse. My prayers are with you.
