hii
i was hoping to use the sps system for my next cake if i am asked to do it and i was just wondering if anybody knows any canadian retailers that sell the sps system,or if not,has anyone from canada ordered the sps from america and how long did it take to get here?
also was it really expensive because of the shipping etc?
i really dont want to go the way of the wooden dowels this time, just because i dont want to take any risks and i am open to the bubble tea straws also,if i can jus feel confident in my stacking abilities!
TIA!

I found 3 sites that ship to Canada but I don't know how much shipping would be for each. Maybe you could contact the manufacturer directly and find out if they have any distributors in Canada.

and Sugar craft

I haven't personally used it as I have only baked for home so am not worried about transportation so the straws have worked fine for me. Hopefully someone from Canada will be able to answer you soon. icon_smile.gif

Sorry, looks like one of the sites was blocked. All I did was search SPS cake in google and clicked on the 1st 3 links.

If McCall's does carry it, it looks like its 1-2 days shipping within Ontario. Looks like the on-line store is currently being updated so you may want to call/email them to find out.

Here's their info:

I wouldn't worry so much about the shipping as the brokerage fees. These can be a real killer, and you don't know in advance whether you're going to get charged. If you are able to buy domestically, do that.

I just ordered two sets of SPS from L & M in Toronto. Google them and you'll find a toll free number. I bought two sets: round and square - 6, 8, 10 inch plates and two sets of columns. It came to $31 plus $15 shipping. It was actually cheaper than trying to order them from the US. Hopefully if enough Canadians start asking for them, they'll become more accessible.

Thanks for this info. I wondered how much it would work out to be, but under $50 is do-able!

I know it's off topic but if anyone is interested I've started a thread to see about Lorraine McKay to come to Ontario to teach a class.
Here is a link to the thread:
