Red Velvet Pancakes????

I cannot believe I did this? My DH's Aunt and Cousin from New Jersey came down and they were having dinner at our house last night. The night before last I stayed up to midnight making a red velvet cake and even had to run out to the store in the middle because I did not have fresh buttermilk. When I was adding the flour I thought it did not smell just right but figured it was because I had a ton of things going on in the kitchen.

The next day I decorate a beautiful red velvet cake with fresh strawberries. That night I take it out, we sing happy birthday to my SIL, me, My MIL, Aunt and Cousin go into the kitchen to cut it and serve it. I decide to taste it first to make sure it was ok because I had trouble leveling it and wanting to make sure it was moist and when I tasted it .......... guess what.........................

PANCAKE MIX!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On top of that my DH other cousin in New Jersey quit her job to make cakes for a living!!!!!! How embarassing!!!!

They have been teasing me all night and morning that they cannot wait to tell the cake baking cousin back in New Jersey about my goof!!!!

Fortunately, The creamcheese icing was awesome and I had fresh strawberries so everyone ran the strawberries over cake to scrape off the icing!!!

Moral of the story........ do not allow your husband to straighten up your pantry and fill of a storage container of flour with pancake mix!!!!! ugh!!!
