Does any one have a cake shop open that you do cake orders as well as teach classes?

Not me, but Cake Carousel in Richardson TX does. They have an amazing assortment of both inventory and classes.

Not me either, but when I first started doing this, the local cakesupply store did that .... supplies, which she also sold to those who took the class, and cakes, for those who took the class and thought it was too much work! icon_lol.gif

I do, but I don't...LOL, I offer cake classes but they just haven't taken off yet. I don't promote them much yet as I rent a catering kitchen. Once my actual shop gets open I will advertise them much more.

No but I'm seriously thinking about it! I am in a small town and I have thought about evening classes for mini projects like the cookie wreaths, chocolate covered oreos, decorating cupcakes and such. I was also throwing around the idea of holding birthday parties for children. The closest Michael's is almost 3 hours away!

Right here! I am a fully stocked retail supply shop with cake classes running year round and a licensed kitchen producing all occasion cakes, cookies, etc. I'm in a town of about 20K and have been in business for almost 9 years.

Can I ask how much does one charge per person/kid for a lesson? Do you charge seperately for supplies or included in the price?

well it might be a silly question, but how much investment are we talking about if its a supply shop along with cake decorating thing.I was looking into the custom cake shop with a studio for birthday parties and classes .I am a wilton instructor at Michaels right now.

We do-were you planning on offering the same? It is a great idea BUT alot of work. Something or the other is always happening and it ofcourse requires great coordination. Having said that though, it is alot of fun!
