ANo I dont mind Siany, 40, there wasnt a huge amount of work, and our other friends would probably charge a lot more, but have to go with the area I guess.

Its a small cake, 7" jam and cream.

What would you charge Siany?

Yes I hated making that engine, never made one before, huge learning curve,as is the pirate ship tomorrow, dreading it.

Nanny fab cakes! You're so neat!

Tiddy not too sure what to charge- possibly £100 but that's without really thinking how much work is involved. I've never done a dog cake before. Also assuming it's a relatively small cake. Probably should be over £120- I think the head will be a problem what with trying to keep it attached to the cake. Will the head be made of styrofoam? The eyes look so real!

Jo, I've not covered any of my cakes with lids as yet because they have all been too tall. I have however used cellophane plastic wrap to cover the top just so cake doesn't get rained on or anything like that.

AI would probably be around £45 for it. How did you do the cards? If they are hand painted then that would increase the price somewhat.

Tiddy I don't know what I would charge for that. I'm not at all experiences with 3d cakes. The head could be either rkt or cake with the right structure.

ATiddy, I'd be looking at £150 at least. That's a full day of work minimum (work day here meaning early morning to late night, not 9-5!) to get it to a good standard. Once you take your ingredients/materials into account you're looking at taking probably 130-135, and out of that you have to take the rest of your overheads. All in you'll probably end up with somewhere in the region of 125-130 once gas/Electrics/petrol etc have been accounted for, and that has to cover a full days labour costs and profit!

ANanny crikey you have been busy ! Great cakes love the fireman !!

Night petitecat, think tomorrow is going to be dry so fingers crossed my stacking is up to scratch and cake stays put !! Ceremony starts at 10 am and then we are off to do after, so won't be able to catch you guys tomorrow.

Thanks catsmum the lettering was tricky to glue on with my chubby fingers !!

I decided not to charge my friend for the cake as actually want to give it as a gift, out of interest what would you say it's worth ??

AThat card cake was really nicely executed nanny, and wouldn't have left my kitchen for less than £75! You're far too good to undercharge ;-)
