AMorning all. :-) Nanny I had to scrutinise it and I thought maybe the letters were not centred. It amounts to the same thing tho doesn't it? It's lovely, the little handprints are so cute, I'm sure they'll be delighted. The last cake I made, the letters were all over the place! I didn't even show you all cos it was awful! Maybe I should now tho, if nothing else it'll show you that there's really nothing wrong with yours!
AGood afternoon everyone!!!!:D
Barbara, it's lovely!!! I'm sure they will love it. When you are sticking the edible images, use a little bit of trex. It's easy to take the image off if you misplaced it!!!:)
Nannycook I love your cake and I have to admit that I didn't notice the banner until you drew our attention to it!
AThanks Maisie, its the banner that isnt straight, they were all straight before I moved it to stick the dam thing down, grrr.
Oh fab, didn't think of that Bashini.x
AYes I am a devil for pointing out my mistakes, thankfully not to the customer tho, she didn't notice.
AYeah, I can see it now when I look at the bow. It's hardly anything tho nanny, I think they'll be delighted. Want to see skewiff? That's skewiff! Don't you feel better now?! :-D
ANo problem Barbara!! :)
Maisie, love your cake. I still cannot get those particulate letters inline on the board. Very rarely I use them for this reason. I know they are beautiful, but to put on a round cake/board is a nightmare!! :-(
AThanks bashini, did you ignore the great big bit of lumpy fondant or did you take pity on me and just be kind?! I think the letters are actually different sizes. I know some are wider than others but I think there's a height difference too. In this case it was me and not the letters. I placed them on the board and took a photo so I could refer to it as I stuck them. It didn't work but don't they look much better before I stuck them?
AMaisie, your having a laugh! What lumpy bit?
I have those cutters too and dont use them much either.
Ladies I did purchase some teeny tiny letters yesterday to go on cupcakes, New out they are, God knows how to get them out tho.
AYes Maisie, what lump? I can't see it before and I can't see it now even after you said it!!!!
What are the new cutters Barbara? Can't you use a pin to take them out.?
ANope, sorry Maisie, I cannot see one tiny lump anywhere, its very pretty, hope your proud of it? You love your new cutters dont you? I can feel the curve from here, ha ha.
A my teeny tiny cutters.
AOohhhh!!! The Windsor craft ones! They are so easy to use. Cut the letter and push it out using the other side...does it make since?
AHaha, thankyou ladies. It's the pink fondant on the board, just below the "lle" of "danielle". Nanny you have to stop showing me new stuff!
AWell me me about it, every flipping time I go there I spend spend spend, he must rub his hands with joy when he sees me coming I swear!.
Bashini, I have loads like this but I do find it easier to take the back off.
Ha ha sugarluva, you too?
AYes nannycook I'm going to have to have some now hehe. You should be banned from this forum you cost people too much money! :)
Nannycook my shopping list for Cake International is growing longer and longer! What are you all doing to me?! I just have so many things to get now! (Maisie - I think I need a microscope.....or new glasses! I can't see anything. Like the giant cupcake tho'!).
ADayscakes, me either, cant see anything!
Oh you'll all thank me soon I'm sure. I've just bought 2 bunnies to make cupcakes, so sweet.
Well the way I look at it is if I have to get up at the crack of dawn at my age then buying things like this that makes me soooo happy then why not eh?
Nannycook - are you allowed to let rabbits do baking?
Sorry - couldn't help myself! Please show us what you got - I have got tickets to see Mitch Turner do an Easter cake on Friday - I might have to buy a few more bits......
Kathy
AOh yes I can see why I've confused you all, bunny cutters I meant, they look lovely on a pic I saw in grass with a toadstool and a ladybird, I've been asked to make some Easter cupcakes and this is what I'm gonna make.
Oooh I'd love to see her, even better, Paul Hollywood, he can knead my buns any day!!
better shield small children from this Nanny! I saw him last year from a distance with queen Mary herself! The crowd was going mad. I decided to get myself nearer the front this year so I don't have to squint. Got a chocolate shoe demonstration by Tracy Mann before we go to see Mitch Turner. Sadly no Paul Hollywood this year.
Kathy
ADayscakes, I am one Jealous nanny!!!. I love going to these shows. I spent loads up the NEC in 2012. Very naughty!!!
AAh right nanny that makes so much more sense! Would love to see the cupcakes when you've made them.
ASugarluva, got 8 minion cupcakes to make for next Fri first.
Also I have a cake its a joint 60th and retirement, she wants a rugby shirt or similar on the one side and a power station ish, on the other, anyone got any ideas how would one do something like that? Panicking abit has havn't got a clue.
AAre you making a square cake, Barbara? You can divide the cake in half, not from the centre though, from one corner to the other. Then cover on side with the colour of the rugby shirt and maybe the logo on it? And on the other half, you can make a small power station?
AOh well you can do things like that, Gatwick air China type person you!! But for mere mortals like me, a power station, you kidding me?
How would you do it?
