Have got up to about 20 but might have to admit defeat!!

A couple of questions for the other UK Cupcakers -

Which online supplier do you use for your cases - gels etc, I tend to just buy bits off of fleabay but have been checking out cake craft shop and cupcake shop, but where do you go??

Also, Cherry flavouring - how do you go about this? Can only seem to find juice or syrup that is used for coffee/shake flavouring - would that do or is there a better alternative out there? I found Watkins do some great flavours, but they are in US and the only place online that done it in UK is not out of stock.....trying to keep it as natural and carbon footprint friendly as poss so dont really wanna order from over the pond.

I like design a cake's coloured cupcake cases, they are plain but bright. I think must places sell the same ones.
Don't like PME cases always seem to peel.
And I LOVE culpit patterned cases!

Don't use flavourings really other than vanilla and almond. So can't really help there!

Brought loads of bits yesterday in hobbycraft to help with design of cake for the NEC in November. Gutted I forgot to enter for Telford next week, anyone else going?

Hi there, I always buy my stuff from Design a cake.There cupcake cases are great. I never had a problem with those.

For Cherry flavour, I bought some Amerena cherries from Aldi. They are come during christmas time though. I think Design a cake has some flavouring. Better check that out. icon_smile.gif

They do have a morello cherry flavouring on there but it's out of stock, boo!

I just checked and I can't see them anywhere. I'm planning on entering again this year. I was going to enter the Telford one but I couldn't really afford to as I had to pay my deposit for my trip to Las Vegas icon_smile.gif Can't wait!

Which brings me onto my next question... ideas on what to buy whilst in the US?

I already have an Agbay and a cricut. A new mixer would be nice but not sure how it would work with electrics and also getting it back here. My Dad's an electrician so that may not be an issue...

The schedule is released in the summer apparently, but I'm planning on doing the wedding cake class which was the same for london (more than 2 tiers).
I forgot to enter for Telford! But am still going next saturday!

As for what to buy? OMG I'd end up with LOADS of stuff!! Flower cutters would be TOP of my list they seem to have a much better selection over there!

The electrics wont be a prob but the weight could be an issue....who are you flying with?

What hotel are you staying at?? I love Vegas and Im a travel agent so have to be nosey!!

If youve not been before you MUST make an effort to get away from the strip a bit, its amazing that 2 mins outside of Vegas is desert, really peculiar.

Theres a webbie that gives you a free day trip to either Laughlin (really cute little gambling town set on the river, little known by UK tourists but widely visited by the yanks) or Ethels cactus and chcolate factory - awesome place!

Will find the ink and PM you .

have you tried thecakedecoratingcompany.co.uk site they seem to sell most things and are quite reasonable too. They also stock Cherry flavouring in a brand called Lorann oils, i havent tried the flavourings though. But just a thought icon_smile.gif

Hi there!!

I'm new to this! Having browsed a few of the posts, there's lots of useful hints and tips which are great!!

I'm having a few issues with my cupcake liners but don't know if it is my baking trays I'm using? It's almost as if the liner creases into itself when I put my batter into them.

Any of the UKers know really good deep hole baking trays that don't do this to the liner?

I'm currently trying to start a small blog and start a small online business. Have had a few orders and have taken lots of photos (of yet I'm still to upload)

Hope to make some new Cupcake- obsessed people on here like myself!

Hi Ellie,

Welcome to the thread. I bought a muffin tray and use muffin cases to make my cupcakes. As I mentioned above, I use the design a cake cupcake cases. Also some like Culpitt ones too.

The competition schedule for the NEC was emailed to me today, did anyone else get it??

Now I want to enter ALL of them!!! ha ha ha!!
