ATiddy amazing as alway!

Kelsey looking gorgeous in Rome :)

Right my attempt at a slow ninja ( it's taken 10 hours over all but about 3.30 actual working time) it's for a bake sale at my husbands work, they are doing a nights sleep on the street to raise money and having the bake sale to raise a bit more.

AAw Tiddy that's a really lovely thing to do in return. She will love it !

Same as mine then Siany - takes a few hours to admit there in the wrong lol.

Today is undoubtedly going to be a horrid day at work with all things coming to a head. I am really not looking forward to it, I feel like I did at school when I didn't studying had enough before an exam ! However saying that no matter how hard I try this woman keeps booby trapping things! It's like I'm doomed to fail, I must tell myself it's her ego boost that's the problem here not me !

Anyway off on school run in the wind and rain :-( have a good day all.

Oh Tiddy - that's a lovely thing to do.  I have no idea how much this would cost but I'm well into 3 figures in my head.  You know your neighbour will be so happy to have this - who else will ever have a cake like this.  So special.

Kelsey - amazing photos of Rome - I am so wanting to go there.  I am planning Venice next year - just planning mind.  Friends of ours went this year for a birthday treat and they got charged €40 for an ice cream and a coffee in St Mark's Square.  They originally went in for two bellinis but that was €35 each!  I will get some tips from you next year!  I can't believe you were across the street from the Collosseum.  Amazing location.

Jo - positive vibes coming your way.  Don't let them grind you down.  I always find that what goes around comes around for these people.  We had somebody here about 4 years ago who was a nasty piece of work.  I didn't have a lot of direct contact with her and because I work for the boss, she was on the whole very nicey nice to me - except one time when she threw papers at me (boss was out).  Big mistake.  I said nothing however until I was asked officially for my opinion of her - then it all came out.  Turns out several people had already complained in private about her.  I wasn't too bothered about her but I overheard the way she spoke to others and she was just a bully.   Hate bullies.  Anyway, she got the sack - job done.

I made the sugarpaste myself and used sugarflair red extra to colour it. Used the LMF recipe and it worked really well :)

Never mind have just done a search and found it. When I made MMF I mixed it with asda fondant but it seemed to stay really soft there is no corn syrup in the LMF recipe so maybe that was why. I am going to have to give this a try. How did you find it to work with Siany?

Another question for you Siany!! (sorry), did you use corn syrup or liquid glucose?  Edited to say- got it confused with another recipe. Ignore this question LOL

Siany did you add the colour to your LMF when you were making it in the mixer or after it was made. This will be great for dark colours like black.

Morning all :)

Tiddy, that cake is bonkers amazing. That is all :-D

Siany, your cake is brilliant - it's so hard to get clean looking cakes when you have nothing to cover up the mistakes!

I'm sorry you're having such a sh8t time Jo. I can sympathise completely (hubby was bullied, physically and mentally for over 3 years by his director resulting in 6 months off work with stress and the director being sacked), people say it's just work, but it follows you home. I hope it picks up for you soon. Illegitimi non carborundum

Your photos are lovely Kelsey, and how lucky were you being *that* close to the Colosseum!!??

ooh, news on the pipe! After my lengthy email last week, I had a one line reply today (just as I was about to nudge him) saying the plumber will be over to do it this week. Despite all the rubbish we've had, I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt this one last time and will assume (until I have to decide otherwise) that he's doing it correctly, digging up the pipe etc. Fingers crossed!

So who wants a dreadful joke for a Tuesday? I'm ignoring all the groans and posting it anyway :-P

Why men shouldn't be agony aunts

Dear Phil

I left home for work last week and after less than a mile my car stalled and wouldn't start.
I walked back to my house and found my husband in bed with our 19 year old babysitter.

They announced that the affair had been going on for two years.

Can you help me? I'm desperate.

Dear Reader

The most common cause of vehicles breaking down in the first mile is dirt in the fuel lines.

Hope this helps.

Phil.

Funny joke Lizzy.  That really does sum up why men shouldn't be agony aunts!  I mean how many times have we gone on and on about something to our other half only to hear the phrase "what did you say was for tea???"

Red lights.......???  Are you going all "techy" now Tiddy??  Can't wait.....:D

Kelsey - am hoping you can help me with a recipe for my neighbours' Christmas cake.  I am searching for "halal" fruit cakes and found this:  http://cherryonacake.blogspot.co.uk/2009/06/boiled-fruit-cake.html  - do you have any suggestions?  I loved your pics on FB btw of the Frozen cake.

I had some SPD so I used that.

It's fine to work with, much easier than MMF. I think I would knead a little trex in with it before using next time as it did craze a bit but used gunge to repair.

Original message sent by roxylee123

Siany did you add the colour to your LMF when you were making it in the mixer or after it was made. This will be great for dark colours like black.

Add it to the marshmallow when you add the trex and give it a good mix in the mixer. Then add the icing sugar.

Having a mass clean today so popping in and off. Sorted all my cake stuff out so I'm feeling productive lol
