OMG I HAVE LIFTED A PAINT BRUSH, PUT PAINT ON IT AND APPLIED IT...

Now I'm having a well earned break!! This morning I watched the lovely Faye C do some brush embroidery this am, and then watched Paul create a clematis spray on a cake. Finally I have seen a video of someone putting a sugar flower arrangement together - leaves, little flowers, big flowers, even decorative wire- and how to get it all together. Hallelujah

Now off to do some skirting boards. Tonight going to rendezvous with Paul B with as many videos as I can manage, then tomorrow paint the walls.

I'm rather miffed I couldn't watch the videos sooner, not sure what happened but every time I tried to watch something, I was told pay up to watch it.

Ah Jean - you got in!!!  What have you watched?  I did the dog in the bag cake (he tells you how much) and the buggy/jeep - he doesn't say how much that one is.  Roxy - I'm glad it's not just me!  I thought it was a chocolate cake at first - then he cut it!  Lol.  I'm not sure which one to watch next....  I like the videos though - I'm not really complaining - especially as they are free.  I was surprised to learn that you could make ganache with Elmlea....I had no idea.  Sorry to hear about the asthma - poor little thing.

O...M...G!

Two exercise classes in a day seemed a good idea this morning.  Before I started.

I'm shattered.  And my knees aren't too happy with me, either!  Hey ho...  nothing a couple of ibuprofen won't sort out! LOL!

Booked into zumba again tomorrow night.

AND I'm trying a new class on Thursday morning - it's called 20-20-20...  that's 20 minutes of step, 20 minutes of aerobics and 20 minutes of abs work...

If this isn't the act of a woman DESPERATELY trying to shift as much weight as she can before she goes dress shopping in a couple of weeks, I don't know what is, LOL!!!

AI'm missing my tablet,so much easier to use than flipping phone, still being repaired. I made some jewellery, she makes her own.so when.I looked at her website it was very, let's say matching, pearls etc,so I made a matching set, black and silver type necklace, braclet and some earrings, it's sort of ok,that's it really though. Coloured the sp,hot pink to bring the black pearls out.

Kathy, I know what you mean now! I thought he was using fruit cake then he covered it in ganache so it must be something else then, I guess chocolate??

I watched (speed watched- fast forwarded to the interesting bits!!) The Clematis Nancy cake, Faye's brush embroidery and lustred cake, and now trying to finish the 3 tier vintage luggage cakes which look absolutely fantastic.

Does the promo end tomorrow?

Suzanne, if you're achy, stretch stretch stretch! Hold stretches for 30 secs minimum. Don't forget the abs if you did them today! Take it from the ex gym instructor LOL.

No wonder your shattered Suzanne after all that, what is the dress for a wedding?  I've spent the last hour or more running to four yes FOUR post offices to pick up a parcel as the stupid parcel force man had put the wrong post office on the card and when I got there they kept saying it had been moved to another one. I don't know what on earth there playing at but two parcel cards and four post offices later I have my new glass stove covers, black with white flowers.

You made a start then Petitecat good for you it's more than I've done to my hall, I've been saying I'll start it for months now. I think the problem in I need a new carpet but can't afford one at the minute as the hall is very long so I end up paying for twice the amount of carpet that I need. I don't see the point of going through the effort to pain only to look at an old tatty carpet. That's my excuse anyway lol.

Your jewellery sounds like it will look lovely Nanny, when will you tablet be fixed for you?

AYay! A whole page to read! Haha!

I think the pastillage may actually be ok Suzanne! I didn't really like the feel of it much though and was so worried about it drying fast I rushed I think! I had 12 roof sides and turned them all this morning and they are looking much better so shall deserve judgement for now :D I also had to make hundreds of little shutters for windows which are dry and I painted those yesterday.......fencing, columns....also done. Then for the other cake I've had to get the turrets started and they are dying too :D

Who was asking about Mr Tiddys cake emporioum? Is it you Kathy? (am on my phone so can't scroll back)

Hello how's everyone? :-)

Hope everything went well for your mam sugarluva and she's recovering well.

Nanny you must be exhausted! I bet you'd like to go to bed when Ioan goes tonight wouldn't you? I feel a bit like that today, I've been so busy lately.

Speaking of which I've just taken Leah for her flu vaccine. I don't know if you're around newstreet but if you are and if your daughter has the flu jab, I wanted to make sure you know it's available as a nasal spray. It's really for 2-4 year olds (can't remember how old your daughter is, got a feeling she's 3 so she should be ok) but Leah had it cos she's disabled and I'm tired of holding her down for yet another painful, frightening procedure. Apparently they're very limited cos they're so expensive, I had to ask the gp about it, they only offered Leah the injection.

Suzanne I like the sound of your spreadsheet. :-) I can feel a Christmas list coming on soon, I'm slipping this year, I've usually got two or three on the go by now.

How's your mam Lynne? I so hope she's starting to feel better.

My son who's just started high school came home with a letter about the nasal flu vaccine a few weeks ago they're trailing it in the area apparently. He was petrified about it until I said it was a nasal spray rather than a injection.
Oh jo she sounds like a cow. Take no notice - what goes around. .... your little girl makes a pretty Elsa - very cute.

Just watched the Hangover - my kids said I wouldn't like ir but I thought it was funny. Not sure why they said that! Nite all.[/quote

Absolutely love the hangover. Mr chow is just hilarious.

Jo how was the 1d film? My daughter wanted to go but we went to the actual concert so I thought it was a bit pointless going to that. That's so cute what your younger daughter said as well.

Nanny I bet you're looking forward to your bed tonight.

Kuuushi so pleased you're having a fab time in Rome, the weather sounds fab. I'm currently looking for next summers holiday but not having much luck as prices are just ridiculous at the moment.

Hope everyone's having a good week so far.

ASuzanne well done on the two exercise classes in one day. I love Zumba I go on a Wednesday evening, I've been going for over two years now. I'm currently following slimming world from home at the moment although having these in the cake tin isn't helping

Mmm cake. They look lovely Loubee.

I'm currently watching Mayen's video tute on how to make a rocket cake. Seems we need half of the stuff in B&Q in order to make this rocket cake's structure. Love her work though, she's fab!

Ooh, are those speculoos/Lotus biscuit flavoured cupcakes as well as having them on top? I got a bit addicted to the Lotus spread you can get when my Belgian friend introduced me to it a few years ago. Luckily you can buy it over here now (and if anyone hasn't tried it, do because it's lovely. It's great for baking with too.
I'm going gluten free for a month from tomorrow (or forever if the test results come back positive :(), so have been making the most of it the past couple of days. I made pumpkin waffles yesterday and pumpkin muffins today. Having a mental block with the wedding cake where I seem to have decided that all the ideas I've had for the design of it are rubbish and I need to think of something new.

Sock Monkey, It's difficult getting mental block isn't it! Hopefully you get a light bulb moment soon so you can finalise the design.

Talk about blunt, been waiting for a call all day about a cake for friday. I'd written them off, only to get a text about an MMS message from the guy who rang me up about the cake. It's a photo of a cake he'd like for his daughter. Thing is, that's all he sent!! No message after that to say, that's what we'd like, can you do it and so forth... nada. So I just texted back to say I can do it, gave him the price and that I needed payment tomorrow. That should determine whether they are serious or not. If they pay tomorrow, then it's sods law isn't it, what with me starting to paint and all that... sigh

Right, back to watching the cake genius Mayen on Paul's website!! She is still talking about PVC pipes... must concentrate!

Omg I love that lotus spread. It hasn't lasted long enough for me to try baking with it yet but my god could I eat it by the jar full!

Hope everyone is well, nice to see everyone is back to being chatty.

Lizzy I really hope all of your building work gets sorted soon it sounds like such a nightmare. Good luck for the cake.

Suzanne you're making me feel tired just hearing about all that exercise!

Jean hope you're enjoying painting. I personally love painting, I just hate cleaning up the brushes and everything afterwards.

Nanny enjoy a good night's sleep now that Ioan has gone home, I bet you miss him though once he's left don't you?

I'm off to bed now so tired night night x

Yes they were lotus flavour sockmonkey I filled them with the biscoff spread and then mixed a couple of teaspoons into the vanilla buttercream. Honestly the stuff is so addictive I was eating it straight from jar I couldn't even have a cupcake the same night as had eaten nearly half the jar while making them. Lol. I hope you get good news from your test results.

Jo sorry to hear works not improved yet. Did you manage to get Friday off to do your cake? If you can is there anychance of buying the hot pink fondant, I'm lazy so don't colour my own but maybe somebody else on here could recommend some colours to mix to make hot pink.

It's my birthday this week and haven't decided what cake to have yet.

Nanny enjoy your end tonight.

Thanks about the cupcakes everyone.
