Pink ribbon for me too!

Did Nanny say why her daughter was on the box?  I must have missed it.

Having a mare at work - somebody new in the travel agency we use and they've c**ked up all the invoices.  I'm no mathematician either so it's taken me 5 hours to get through the list.  I'm brain dead now.

Promised myself some me time tomorrow with the laptop, steaming coffee and Alan Dunn!  ;)

Kathy

Edited - just seen your post Tiddy - so pleased for you.  Haven't used Squires sorry.

Which ribbon do you think works better? This is just a cake dummy by the way! Should I get a matching ribbon especially?

White ribbon for me.  The pink is nice, but the white polka dots don't tie in to the rest of the cake.

Like Tiddy, I buy 'bridal white' ribbon.  It's ever so very slightly off-white.  But you can put it with white sugarpaste and it's a perfect match.

Sounds amazing I vote Miss Saigon. The red and yellow sunset would make a stunning backdrop with very vivid colours that you could definitely identify with Miss Saigon. I see what you mean about the make up from Geisha though too but I'd love to do a miss Saigon cake.

Nanny, how rude to not tell us why Sarah was on the news?! Pfft!

See that's exactly why I liked miss Saigon, I love the colours. But the only iconic thing for miss Saigon is the colours and the black logo. Memoirs of a Gaisha gives me a lot more scope to play with, all the beautiful fabrics on the kimonos, the hair dressings, the umbrellas. I think I'm going for memoirs, I just sold it to myself hahaha, the only other option in the pipeline was the lion king musical. But I'm not as sold on that one.

Tiddy absolutely amazing news, so happy for you. Cake looks amazing!

Jean, lovely cake, out of the two I would choose the pink but I do think an off white would be the best look IYKWIM.

So, change of plan today.  Was supposed to take my son for a blood test.  Well, we can go next week.  I've just spent over an hour queuing at the deli for some bits I've ordered (Jewish festival tonight until tomorrow night).  AN HOUR!  I have to do a cake today, as well as the last dozen cupcake toppers.  So blood tests can wait! LOL!!

BUT, that's all I have on my list now.  Do the cake, finish the cupcake toppers and TIDY UP!!!

Poor little chap :( And poor you Siany, it's so hard to focus when you're sleep deprived.

Sorry you had a rubbish night too Suzanne. Crohn's is nasty isn't it? Dynamo suffers with it too I think?

Pink for me too jean. Whichever cake dec place online sells sattina paste does reels of off white ribbon that matches white sugarpaste perfectly, and is only about £5/6 for 25m.

Will post photo later, just need hubby to make the background look a bit better than it does!

Yeah - I got the FB message this morning and hadn't a clue what it was all about.  Apparently you have to have your photo taken with Dawn in either Birmingham or Melbourne (not much difference then!) to be able to be entered into a free draw for the product.  Do you know what it is then as I can't see anything either?

Tiddy, I'm so glad you've not had any clusters, cross fingers this is the end! And your cake looks even better in the new photo!

Suzanne, love the tux cupcakes! I knew they'd be cute :)

Thanks very much for the suggestions on the ribbon! I'm wondering if I can photo shop the ribbon on Adobe... and then get some proper ivory ribbons.

I'm working on my nemesis- the pearl mold. GRRRR even after it's come out of the freezer I still manage to mark the pearls so I never have a complete perfect set. I just can't get the pearls out of the mold without marking them in some way. At least I managed to make ONE wafer flower- a magnolia!

Nanny, that's impressive! You must be so proud of Sarah :)

Jean, lovely cake, out of the two I would choose the pink but I do think an off white would be the best look IYKWIM.

Other iconic things from miss saigon could be the car from the American dream song or the helicopter. Those are both pretty iconic and would be fun. Not that I'm trying to sway your decision or anything....

Lion king would also be a good cake to make but I think you could have more fun with the other two.

That's great about Sarah nanny - now you've finally told us haha.

No idea what the new Dawn Butler secret product is either :(

And I vote for the white ribbon whoever was asking, sorry I've forgotten already.

AI'm guessing we won't have to be shopping for PVC pipes and flanges if we don't want to when it's launched.

I haven't looked at posts properly, sorry, still feeling rank. I have a horrible feeling this is going to be a full blown infection :-( Off to lie down :-(
