Does anybody use Carma Massa Ticino fondant?  Saw reference to it today on the Cake Makery site on FB.  It gets rave reviews but seems like it's very expensive.

AOh that's beautiful Mel. Are you putting it on a vintage stylee cake? That with some lace would be stunning. Ooh ooh, I can see it on a pale sage green cake!

Well done maisie and Kathy :-D Maisie, stop doubting yourself you numpty, you're very good so stop thinking otherwise!

Hubby has been asked all week if I was doing anything for today, but I had too much on so didn't. That's my ego boost though as he's had emails and in-person requests all week :-)

I wish I did have technological socks, they might keep my frozen tootsies warm! :-D

Thanks for the well wishes! I hope Suzanne's doing ok...

I've managed to do the 3 figures so I'm getting somewhere. It's not even like I've been procrastinating today, it's just taking forever cos I'm not into it. I need to finish the figures (just hair and whatnot) then do the windsurfers. I'm not sure whether to do the sails with wafer paper or pastillage :/ I have both ready, I'll see what works best I think.

Back I go :-)

It's for use in hot weather isn't it? I wanted to try it but it's honking expensive and I thought it's not worth it if it's not hot. Someone on here had used it though, can't remember who?

Poor M4rvel :-( Hugs to you xx Caking when you just want to be in bed is pants, and I'm sure teaching isn't exactly a great remedy either. Take a couple of paracetamol, that's what my mum always tells me :-)

AAw thankyou everyone. :-) It does give you a boost doesn't it? I don't know what I'm more chuffed about, the amount raised or my cakes going down so well! My mam was funny, I bought a few cakes (other peoples, for research purposes you understand!) to take home, asked her which she wanted, she said a chocolate one. I said there are no chocolate ones, she said "yes there are, yours"! So I actually bought one of my own cakes so she could have one she knew she'd like! :-D

Aw m4rvel, get well soon. Sounds like you've got what Leah had. If you have, the good news is it comes on quick and goes just as fast. Leah's only lasted about four days so hopefully you won't have long left to suffer.

Never used it Kathy but I've only heard good about it. I was under the impression there are two types tho, that one and carma massa Ticino tropic. I thought the tropic was the hot weather one. I might be wrong, they might be one and the same.

Gorgeous rose mel, I was going to say the same as Lizzy, would look lovely with cake lace.

How's the cake Suzanne?

AHehe, couldn't stay away long maisie :-D

Um, ok, I've come on specifically to be *****y. Sorry :-D

You have to look at pinkys cakeland (no apostrophe) on fb. She's being slayed on a thread as she's literally nicked m&s photos of bar cakes, watermarked them with her own watermark, and is claiming them as her own.

The thread I saw has the original photo shown besides hers. They are identical. So bad.

Also, half her images are sh*te, but half are ok. This is (according to her!) because she has a photographer friend who has taken the images for her. Apparently this friend also helps her make far better cakes as the quality of them in these shots improves dramatically.

I think my favourite is in her handmade flowers album, where she has a square 'cake' which is actually a set of dummies! They're not even in good nick!

Had to share as I have been sat here open mouthed!

Back to cake now :-) You'd think this was a three tier wedding cake the time it's taken :-)

APopped on for a quick comment *read ****** did anyone watch strictly? Did you see the tennis racket cake and the massive buldge all the way round it? I was shocked for it being on telly, but anyone can make cakes right????

I can't get back to the thread Siany, it came up on my timeline and evidently fb no longer thinks it's relevant to me!

AAw thanks guys :) LOL just as well I made a load of Chantilly lace yesterday then isn't it ;) If anyone wants to try these, I used Peggy Porshens sugarflower book for the instructions, if you can do sweetpeas, you can do these! Got some others in a blush pink too which look lovely.

Glad it's going better Lizzy, hopefully all downhill from now?

Hope you are doing ok Suzanne :)

Kathy I've heard of that SP but never used it, heard it's good but ££££ too! I'll head off to check out that page in a moment, sounds......interesting.....?!

Aw hope you feel better soon Marvel, agree with Lizzy, paracetamol, lots of water and try and get some rest if you can!

Hi Siany, how are you? I don't watch Strictly I'm afraid, how on earth does a tennis cake get on a ballroom dancing show LOL!?

AThanks Kuuushi, was trying to figure that one out!

Nanny I think she's nicked the other good ones (or most of them) from the same person, they look the same style, same background, even the same little greetings label.

I did read in her comments she's heard rumours, all her cakes are hers, photographer friend etc. no other comments tho. Would love to read that thread. I think the hand thing might be Michael Jackson? And what about the playing cards?! :-D

Lmao mel, her cakes are as cluttered as her kitchen by the looks.

I can honestly and objectively say I've never made anything as bad as hers. And even if I had, no way would I put them on the internet!
