AHubby is currently kneeling on the floor with his head in the oven fitting a new element :D

On a sad note the small independent cake decorating shop in my town has closed...so I had to drive 7 miles to the next town for another shop.....to find it gone....luckily it's moved to another part of the town so I managed to get a14" cake drum for the 40th cake.

Relznik....I love the spider...he's great :)

Marvel...fab pony cake :)

Kelsey, Love the new hair.  Enjoy your well earned rest.

Jo they look good, the women looks like shes a bit busty over fat lol

Trying to get my head round something.  I need to upscale my recipe and just want to make sure im doing it right as converting to square and upscaling.  I have an 8 inch round recipe.  I need it to fit a 10 in square tin.  So, I need to upscale it to an 11 inch round to fit that right?  Thinking too much about it and have confused lol

Thanks Jo. Your figures are lovely, I don't think they look that different in size I wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't said anything.

Love the hair Kelsey, you take a lovely photo though I suppose it helps being so pretty.

Siany I use Lindy smiths chart to upscale a recipe.

ARoxy that's what I'm using. It just seemed a lot for a two inch difference as it doubles the recipe. I am sure it's right though. Well, I'll find out Wednesday.

AYes sugarluva I do remember Simons rabbit, what a job, I'd love a nose around the corrie set.

I thought your bus cake was good as it was Suzanne. I know what you mean about edible images though, it does feel a bit like cheating doesn't it. I also liked the flag in the background idea, can't remember who said it tho.

Thankyou, Jean, m4rvel and jo. Have I mentioned I'm ever so slightly proud of her! :-D

Love your wainbow m4rvel. :-)

Spirelite my grandad gave me his old laptop last week, it runs windows 8 and try as I might I can't upload photos.

Love your figures jo, especially their expressions. Also their figures look perfectly normal to me, most if the women in my family are fatter than their husbands!

Hair really suits you Kuuushi, I bet your head feels so light!

Yep, loads of ads Siany, doing my head in, keep tapping on them accidentally.

Morning all

I had my second go at making a figure yesterday and have just finished putting the hair on this morning, my god they take so long or that's just be being super slow. Once again not happy with the face and her neck was a little to long so I had to cut it down so looks a bit odd now.

AMorning!

Ooh fab cakes everyone! Suzanne the pool one is brilliant, even if I do hate spiders LOL! Not your fault you didn't get a few other bits done if she moved the pickup time though! And the bus cake looks really neat! Hope the christening one is going ok x

Marvel love the Rainbow MLP cake! You have a real knack for those! :) Just perfect for a little girls birthday, I'd have loved that!

Jo your figures are so cute! I wouldn't have noticed a size difference if you hadn't said, if anything the lady just looks a little more 'busty'

Siany glad you got your pan, even if it was a roundabout journey! I use Lindy's size guide too, and yes for a 10" square you want an 11"round recipe.

Happy Birthday Kelsey! Hope you have a lovely day! Your hair looks lovely, it really suits you

Seems I'm on a roll for celeb tweets, we nipped to John Lewis yesterday and Brendan from Bake Off was in there doing a demo! Really nice chap, and lush pastries - was demoing choux pastry and we got to try some! I tweeted about it later, and he replied LOL! Who shall I try next?

Ahttp://www.cakecentral.com/g/i/3046257/a/3371853/my-first-attempt-at-a-figure-my-husband-is-a-keen-skier-and-wears-yellow-trousers-the-hands-fell-off-an-hour-before-the-party-and-he-kept-leaning-backwards-so-he-ended-up-with-an-internal-support-system-of-cocktail-sticks-the-cake-was-4-layers-of/

This was my first (and only) attempt at a figure for my husbands 40th cake (last year)...his nose is all wrong, he is dressed in yellow and brown as that is the actual colour of his skiing gear, and I got comments from all our friends saying it can't possibly be him as I gave the figure brown hair and hubby is very grey now!!

His hands fell off 20 mins before the first guests arrived so they were shoved back on very quickly with a quick prayer (and some piping gel) for them to stay on, and he was doing his best to tip backwards so he got a cocktail stick propped into his bottom to keep him upright, which of course led to more comments from our friends :D

AHi guys. :-) Happy birthday Kuuushi. X tbh I'd forgotten but the happy birthday song just came on cbeebies and reminded me!

Roxy I'd be really pleased with Snow White if I were you, faces scare me. They do take ages don't they. I love her hair, the bodice and the skirt and the neck looks fine to me.

Spirelite lmao at your description and the cocktail stick up his bum! :-D It's a lovely cake, bet hubby was delighted.

This is my raffle winners cake from yesterday, not at all happy with it (I know I never am but my last pigs in mud was so much better) but the raffle winner, the birthday boy and what looked like the entire extended family thought it was wonderful, couldn't stop thanking me and even tried to give me money! My brothers cake worked so well thank you all so much for your help. I was so nervous at every stage because I wanted to do him proud. Well, as soon as he saw it he burst into tears so I couldn't have been more happy. I was so delighted to be asked, so nervous but all went great. It even tasted nice

I don't have a photo of it fully complete curtesy of my phone, but it had a topper, flowers and figurines added to this below. I was so chuffed to be able to do it for him.

I'll have a proper look later at everyone's cakes as it looks like I've missed a few, but for now it appears that someone let an icing bomb off in my kitchen (can't have been me, I'm so neat...) so I need to clean before I fall over. Tarra a bit :-)

Hi Cake Mates....I'm back from Cornwall!!   :-D

Can't catch up completely but happy birthday Kelsey!

Maisie - Leah looks adorable!  So lovely.  I was so excited for you when I heard the news.  Obama was at Stonehenge too - we missed him!  :(  (By two days tho'! :) ).

Barbara - have a lovely holiday!  (I think you are off soon....!)

I didn't have internet (or much signal to be honest) on holiday so I wasn't able to check in - although I did get some FB updates - love the cakes Tiddy and Gray,  It's been so long since I've been here that I can't recall who was doing what - but I seem to recall that M4rvel was going to Rome???  Hope you enjoyed it.

My Cornwall holiday was lovely - on the Tamar - bordering Devon.  Some truly spectacular scenery.  DH now looking at Zoopla!!

Anyway hope everyone is well and will try to scroll back several dozens of pages with a cuppa.

Kathy
