AHa ha don't get your coat Lizzy just avoid bust lol ! Very quick there Gray :D

Petitecat hello :) Wow you have been busy shifting yucky mud no less, your little girl looks very happy stood on that mound lol !

Siany I am glad I'm not just me then, I know on previous attempts the butter and sugar looked greasy so think I was rushing using high speed. Going to try on speed 2 and test again. Otherwise I'm buying a second hand magimix, as when I used to whip up mix in that it came out ultra perfect - shame I sold it really to trade in for a expensive KA that have made my cakes worse. Grrrrr :(:(:(

A:D if only I could get onto FB Tidds.... now my imagination is in overdrive wondering what it could be!!! lol

Love the shoe Kel! dis you make that drying stand yourself? it looks really handy!

Well I am having a real issue with choc fudge filling at the mo..... last time I made it I think I might have used sweetened condensed milk... this time I used evaporated...... it didn't set so I heated it again but this time too hot and it's sticky like toffee :( so annoying and such a waste of ingredients! I am determined to get it right; gonna try evap milk and sugar heated to soft ball... then add choc then butter... I really hope that'll work- the 'don't stir it' bit confuses me though as it catches if I don't stir! sigh.... I'll never make a bake off contestant... lol

Someone suggested transporting it, well protected, on it's side, not standing up....

AHaha, it happened to my first shoe too. Ugh! Snapped in 3 places!

I think if the heel his sat on a dowel and glued you'll be fine with transporting it!

Afternoon!

Have managed to glimpse through the gazillion messages, LOL!!

Wow, wow, wow...  Lizzybug I LOVE the wedding cake!  It's stunning and perfectly done!!

Marvel - what a fab reaction to your tattoo from Hugh Jackman!!!  Bet you were walking on air afterwards!

Kuuushi - your shoe and bow are looking fabulous!  May I ask where you got the former from?  What sort of size shoe does it make (would it fit on a 6" cake do you think?)

I'm just back from delivering a wedding cake...  So I have PCE (post cake elation :-D ) Glad to say it made it there without any hitches!  Phew!

Right.  I need lunch!  I also need to go to Tesco - no food in and the fridge is look very sad!!!  I don't even have any bread!!

Lovely shoe Kuushi.

Hallo Relznik. I tend to have PCE and PCP (post cake paranoia- will they like the cake? I bet they don't! I bet it's dry/too moist/ too sweet/ too bland/ etc etc etc)... :D

Siany, I got my website through wix.com. I don't pay anything at the moment which means I have an ad for wix.com at the bottom of my page and a little one at the top right hand side of hte page. I would suggest you try out the templates for free before purchasing to make sure you are happy with the result. Also check that the mobile website looks good too. Good luck with getting a new website :)

AHi guys. :-)

Nice to see you Jean, I'm gona having trouble catching up on two days worth let alone a month! Glad you're ok, hope the soul fixes your flooding problem. Your garden looks gorgeous btw. :-)

M4rvel I bet you were beyond excited to talk to Hugh jackman! You were cool as a cucumber tho. And he took a photo of your tattoo - awesome! I wonder if he did get it printed on a tshirt.

Lovely cakes everyone. The beach one is gorgeous bashini (I think!) and Lizzy that wedding cake is stunning. Did you beat your bust into it?! :-D I loved seeing the early cakes, I like looking back at my first ones, especially when I'm unhappy with a cake, I look back and see how far I've really come.

Jo good idea to get a pen and paper before you try to catch up, I'll do that next time, I hate forgetting people and scrolling up and down takes forever. I think you should get legal and go for it, getting customers seems to be the hardest part and it sounds like you've got them waiting already.

Get well soon wishes to everyone who's poorly. X

I'm off again now, so busy this week, I'll definitely be back Thursday if not before. ;-) :-D

AOh dear, I'm not going to live that one down anytime soon am I?

SMBC tip, particularly for larger batches - have a sink of cold water ready and when your egg/sugar mix is heated pop it in the sink and keep whisking for a couple of minutes. It takes the worst of the heat off and helps stop overbeating when you're trying to cool it in the mixer. Also, a towel soaked in ice water (damp, not wet) placed on top of the motor part helps if it's getting too hot. I've wrapped one around the bowl too when I'm in a rush.

Kelsey, I love that shoe! It's so pretty, and a lovely shade of blue. Did you make the mould or buy it? Any chance you could let us know how to do it if you did make it, pretty please...? :-)

I have a cake next month with slippers on top. Why does everyone else get gorgeous stilettos and I get old man slippers? :/

What wedding cake was this relznik? Have you posted photos? Glad it went well :-)

Hi again folks.

On the subject of SMBC, I get the butter out of the fridge and slice it into several pieces just before I start. After heating the egg and sugar over the bain mairie, I whisk the mixture on number 5 (that's two settings below the maximum). By the time the meringue is ready for the butter, the butter is still cool but soft enough to be added to the meringue.

AThanks guys about the shoe!

I'd love to take credit for being ingenious and creating a mould, however my morals won't let me!

I had this kit bought for me by hubby when he knew I was going to start properly decorating! http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00C423A2M?pc_redir=1409246011&robot_redir=1

It has everything. Former, templates, sole cutter, heel mould everything!

Haha. I feel like a cheat now

I have my domain from 123-reg and my webhost is GoDaddy. They aren't the cheapest, but their package was by far and away the best that I (and my programmer husband) could find.
