Wow Bashini you've been busy, gorgeous cakes I especially like the starfish one and love the colour you've used on the minnie cake and cupcakes. Is that fondant or buttercream on the middle tiered cake that must have took you ages. Your flowers are beauitful

AThanks Roxylee.:) The middle tier of the wedding cake took me at least 6 hours to do. It's fondant and I made tiny ribbon roses and attached them to the cake.

Tiddy, I just "liked" your golf bag cake. Is that all you have to do?

I thought it looked more like fondant but it was they were so small I thought I must have been mistaken, you've got some patience Bashini. It was worth it though it really stands out.

AMorning cakey peeps :-)

Trying to remember everything, but if I miss anyone sorry!

Welcome new nanny! Kudos on reading the whole lot, I get brain freeze catching up after a few days away!

M4rvel, what do you mean you're in school today? Everyone knows teachers only work 9-3, and only during term time... *ducks and runs for cover as M4rvel lobs a whiteboard marker in this direction* :-D

Loving all the cakes in the last few days. Your painted one is really pretty Tiddy, and I love the starfish and the wedding cake Bashini. Your cakes are so well executed all the time.

Your ring box came out really well Kelsey, they must have been over the moon with it.

The cupcakes looked super Siany, well worth the late night!

I'm sorry you've been so unwell Victoria, that sounds awful. I don't really know anything about ME except for huge fatigue. I'm imagining there is way more to it as well, although I'd guess that's enough to cope with on its own.

I've just been roped into doing a wedding fair this weekend :/ I wasn't going to do any more this year as we've spunked all our money on the building works, but my friend owns a wedding events company and she phoned me up in a panic as both her cake displays had cancelled last minute. Long story short, I've got a stand for £50 instead of about £180, so I couldn't really say no. I'm a bit gutted about her other offer though - a free stand at the Barbican. I've had to say no, as it's just too far away from me on the South Coast and that fair would be drawing people from all over London. That's my week shot then trying to do some dummies. I don't want to start until Thurs when the kids go back, and I'm sloooow, so late nights are definitely in my future!

Nanny (Babs nanny :)), have a lovely time in Cornwall - I hope the weather is great for you :-D

Kelsey, your hubby is lovely isn't he?! I think your hair would look really nice shorter. When was the last time you had it cut? Will it be a bit of a shock? I did mine a while ago from mid back length to above the shoulder. I couldn't believe how light my head felt, and shampooing my hair was freaky the first few times - and a damn sight cheaper for shampoo and conditioner

My bride from last week popped in to drop off the diamante's I'd lent her for her cake, and also the base drum (bless, she thought I might need it back :-)). Hubby spoke to her, and apparently she was raving about the cake, which is always good to hear. Does anyone else spend the time after delivery thinking 'well I think it looked good, but was it dry, did it collapse' etc?

Here's my cake from Saturday's wedding, the groom seemed pleased so that's good.

AWow! That is stunning lizzy! :o my lord the colour just pops!

Right now, straight my hair is just short of the top of my bum. It's long and gets stuck under my arm when I'm sleeping. It hurts! I go through sooo much conditioner!!

Last time it was that short was about 9 years ago. Wow. Heavy hair headaches for that long! Haha

Thanks all :-) This is the design I liked so much that I reworked it in shades of turquoise on a 3 tier dummy for wedding fairs. It's really striking, but pink and white versions of it have been knocking around t'internet for a while now so it's not new!

Wow Kelsey, that's going to feel like you're bald then  I'll keep an ear out for the swearing as you squirt out your usual amount of shampoo, then have to try and feed it back into the bottle with slimy hands, followed a minute later by doing the exact same thing with the conditioner. Not that I've ever done that or anything... :-D

Mmm, hidden sweets, yum :-) Sorry you're having to have an op Chezza, I hope it's not too bad x

ABashini amazing cakes, as always, you must have had cramp a few time with the ruffle tier !!

Lizzy that's just outstanding, love the contrast (we know contrast it my thing) love how striking it is.

I have a Tottenham cake this week, (spurs not pink icing) and that's it. I need to start thinking about advertising a bit and see where that takes me.

Ooh, looking forward to seeing your new haircut, Kuuushi! :-D  How long do we have to wait?  Hope your mega-cake week goes well.

Glad you had a good wedding fayre Tiddy .  I've voted for your golf bag - seriously it's amazing!!!  Sorry to hear about the attack again - hope you're feeling better.

Pretty cupcake display Siany!

Love your latest cakes, Bashini.  Wish I could see them in person.  Such elegant designs - and your sugarpaste looks soooooo smooth!

Lizzy, your wedding cake is fabulous!  Really striking.  Hope the wedding fair goes well and pays off for you.

Sorry to hear you've been ill too, Chezza.  Hope you hear soon about the operation.  Cupcakes with m&ms sound lovely.

Thanks for all the support everyone .  I'm fortunate, I don't get too much pain despite my illness (headaches and aching ribs are about it for me), but the fatigue can be so frustrating sometimes.

Just finished sorting through the pictures of the latest cake I've done (backlog had built up) and looked back to the cake I'd done last year for the same occasion.  That one was the first cake I decorated after deciding I wanted to learn to decorate cakes "properly".  They're both for my Grandmother's birthday.

It's fun looking back and seeing what progress I've made (oh that tissue-paper icing... that was royal icing on the left, by the way.  It didn't set and crinkled it while trying to pipe on it).  Thank you to all of you on this forum - you've helped me so much in learning how to decorate cakes.  Not that I've finished yet of course

Chezzabelle hope your op comes around soon, cupcakes are very pretty.

Victoria your hand painting is so beautiful I wish I could do that. It is funny looking back on your first cake isn't it, I have learned so much from this lovely bunch on here to.This was my first cake it was for my mum's birthday and the alice in wonderland one in my avatar was for her last birthday.
