ANot sweet Kathy, it's the truth. You're really good at fiddly stuff, the baking stuff in this cake, the Mother's Day cupcakes, I really love the knitting and needles too, I love knitting.

Roxy I swear I was dreaming in minecraft squares last night! That's just the ones I was making til 2o clock this morning! They're in a drawer from my bedroom cos I had nowhere else to put them away from mucky little fingers!

I do want to try this wedding cake. It's a chance to have a go without too much risk. That sounds terrible, I don't mean "oh it's only my brother", more it's my brother, we're close, they won't mind if it's not perfect. That still sounds terrible doesn't it!

Poor mr roxy, give him some jobs to do to take his mind off it. Failing that send him down the pub out if your hair!

AAfternoon all :)

Foxy I've had my sons moaning about the same thing all week! Drives me mad!

Well as you may have guessed my heads been just awful! I'm going through 6 tanks of o2 in a week now and the jabs are taking so long to work too. Last night I had to console my eldest as she sadly witnessed it full blast at 2am as ny screaming woke her up, felt so bad :(

Having a good day so far an although I had one attack this morning I have managed to get in the cake room! This week I've a shoe cake and a 3 tier wedding cake as well as all the dummies to finish for the fayre. We did consider pulling out and I may have to but will lose so much money im determined not to do that :(

But guess what...ive finished the comp cake! First thing I did lol. I can remember a few that asked but im going to take a piccy now so will pm those I can remember. I would just stick it on here but don't want to risk being disqualified before I've started haha!

AAw poor nanny! I remember it last time, didn't know about it now tho. Fingers crossed for you, you can't waste all that dieting and shoe shopping!

Thanks catsmum. I don't think I'll be making my stepdaughters tbh, I was in two minds anyway but she's pregnant again so might be postponing now. My SIL is the one I made the 30th butler day chocolate cake for so yes they do know what I can and can't do. The minecraft cake I'm doing is for their son. No date for the vow renewal yet but we're trying to persuade my brother that New Year's Eve/day will be good. :-)

You might all regret telling me you'll help mind, I'll do your heads in!

Well done Barbara!  I gained 2lbs - my own fault... - ate too much and did too little.

AOh tiddy it's stunning! I can't believe how much patience you have! I really don't want to do this. But I will. I don't like the ribbons. Sorry. I'll be sent to cake Coventry now I expect! The cake is stunning, the ribbons are a bit lost I think. Just my opinion tho, and not a reflection on your beautiful work. X

Ooooh, I don't know whether to hit reply!

AMaybe they're just not showing up well on the camera then. Or maybe I'm not a subtle, sophisticated kind of girl! Glad you don't mind. I wouldn't have said anything if it wasn't for a competition, it's going to be judged isn't it, if we can't be honest with you before you take it to CI we wouldn't be being fair to you. X It is a stunning cake tho.

Well done nanny, I'd just stuff my face now if I were you, just in case I couldn't go. Then I'd put 3 pound on, the volcano would go back to sleep and off on holiday I'd go! :-D

ACake is gorgeous Tiddy. Hope you don't mind a comment but you did ask? ;-D I wouldn't have the base separator. Also I would have a bigger drum. There was someone on this thread last year who entered at CI and she got a silver. Think it was Lisapeps?. She said the judge said her drum was out of proportion to the cake and if it had been bigger she would have had gold, if I remember rightly. Also with Maisie with the bows but that may be just the photo. Otherwise stunning

yep i sure did!

Got to be honest...im probably going to pull out. I just cant be doing with all the stress of it.

The drum was intentional as was the bottom separator as i wanted all the blossoms hanging, that was kind of the point. Maybe next year when I dont have all the head problems because at this rate we wont be going anyway!

Thanks for all the opinions though, I do appreciate it. Back to the painting.
