ATiddy they look fab! How are you doing today?

Lol Suzanne, one step at a time! ;) I'll be doing some roses tomorrow - cheated and got Celbuds though as they are for the sides of the cake and I don't want any extra weight!

Well all 6 cakes are finally baked and out the oven - phew! Second fruit cake looking better so far, taller anyway! Just need to see if it shrinks again on cooling :/ Small hemisphere looking good so far too, yay!

Now, time for Bake Off and a cuppa!

AHi all!!! :)

Siany, your cake looks so yummy!!!! And the the layers are fab and glad you like your Agbay. :-)

Natt..... Welcome back!!! Nice to see you after a very loooong time! Love your groot cake even though I don't know what it is.:)

Mel, sorry to hear about your fruit cake and hope the second cake would be better. And cel buds are not cheating at all!!! I use it all the time. Looking forward to seeing your cake.

Suzanne, one step at a time... You'll get there..:)

So...I made my Minecraft cake. I tried the method on the tutorial but it didn't work, so I cut the squares and attached them on eBay one. Here is it...

I have finished the wedding cake for Friday and ready for collection tomorrow. And I have a 21st suitcase cake to finish tomorrow evening.

For those of you who have clearly missed out on going to the cinema recently here is baby Groot, mine started off skinnier, but you guys know how these things go, you start off and everything is fine and then something goes wrong and any fix ends up having to be ok! So he's a bit chubby!

Thanks all! It's nice to be back!

Nanny - Thanks for the particularly warm welcome! It's good to be back! I'm much happier than I was a few months ago!! Life is more settled and every little expense doesn't send me into such a whirlwind now, which is good cos the second month I worked I had to replace 3 of my tyres and then had a scare with my exhaust, but it was a free trip to get a clamp replaced in the end!

Maisie - I've certainly never had that problem myself with boiled fruitcake. It would be interesting to know what's causing it for them.

Tiddy - Great job!

Bashini - I love the minecraft cake!

Kuushi - don't worry about ignoring us, I'm like Maisie, I forget people even when I try and take the time to fit everyone in!

I ended up going to Sainsbury after work today because Tesco in town is terrible at the moment, it meant I spent forever there looking at all the nice things they had available and I came out with all kinds of treats so I might as well just decide to give up on losing weight cos it's summer!

On tenterhooks here....  my elder son took a couple of GCSEs a year early (he's doing triple Science and took the first part of the exams this year and he's also taken Statistics).

He gets the results tomorrow.

We're going to his school in the morning.  Please wish him luck!

AFab cake Bashini as always, so neat!

Glad things are going well Natt! I love Sainsburys, much prefer it to Tesco! We online shop most of the time, because if I go in to the shop, there's too much nice stuff that I end up getting!

Wow good luck for tomorrow Suzanne! Will keep everything crossed :)

Well, I'm off to Bedfordshire, night all! X

AGood luck Suzanne :)

Tidy spidey is looking good, hope you got a decent rest last night.

Natt good to see you cute cake.

Mel hope your second cake is ok. My Genoese do that sometimes, not sure why. It would of been hideable (just making up words here) but I would of made another.

Got to go get my car mot'd today, hoping if doesn't fail, it shouldn't but we'll see.

AMorning all. :-) Lovely cake tiddy and the cupcakes are gorgeous.

Bashini your minecraft cake is fab. I'm getting more worried by the day but at least I know not to try getting the squares on with baking paper now. I really need to get on with it now but I'm so busy, times running out rapidly!

Good luck to your son Suzanne, fingers crossed.

And good luck with your car Siany, I hate MOT time.

Good luck to your son too tiddy, glad you had a good night.

Aw poor mr roxy, nothing they can do for a broken toe is there?

Did we all enjoy bake off last night? I love Norman. I know he's not the best baker but I just love him.

AOh Tiddy that's great news re your son. I really love your Spiderman cakes - no E numbers there I take it! ;) Really great to have a cake and cupcakes.

Hi Bashini - again - no idea what Minecraft is but I do like your cake!

I know I've missed loads - I've been working actually! :) but Roxy - I broke a toe when my son was 3 months old. It's still painful and he graduated last month! It was dislocated and they never put it back right and it's complete bent. So I have sympathy. You don't realise how much you rely on your toes! Driving was shocking for me. My foot turned black about a week later - looked choice I must say!

Hope everyone is well - will try to catch up again later.

Kathy

AWow lots going on this morning!

Congrats on a pain free night, and your sons results Tiddy!

Hope the MOT goes ok Siany, mine had a service last week, v £££ sadly as I needed brake pads :/ car are so expensive!

Owch for you hubby's toe Roxy! I broke a toe once too (dropped a full bottle of champagne on it!) and it's really uncomfortable, and mine went a lovely shade of purpley black too, then greeny yellow. Nice! :)

Well I think I'm going to have to call it quits with ganache :/ White batch is looking ok so far, but my dark has split again!! Grrr! I just don't seem to have the knack for this. I'm going to leave it to see if I can reheat and save it, but it might have to go back to buttercream :( More annoying as the dark is for the birdcage and I really want a firm base! *stamps feet in mini tantrum*

On the plus side, the second fruit cake was fine, and is now marzipanned and drying nicely!

Congrats to your son on his results Tiddy.

Mr Roxy's toe is going purple already but he is managing to hobble around.

Ouch Mel that's must have hurt dropping a whole bottle of champagne on your toe. Sorry to hear your having problems with your ganache, I've never used dark chocolate to make it myself I always use milk but I'm sure someone else will be able to help you fix it.

ACar failed it's MOT called my mechanic and it's a £2 bit of plastic cap they have failed it in, I am pretty sure it's a fake fail to get you to pay them £10-15 to get it through now. But mechanic is going to do it tomorrow said it's a 5 min job then get them to retest.

I broke my toes few years back, it hurt like hell. Two toes in one shot. A banana tree fell if the top of my 6ft fridge and smashed my two toes. I still get pain j it now if it's damp or cold, which basically means I'm screwed in this country lol

ATo say I'm proud is an under-statement!

He got an A in Science and an A in Statistics.

He actually got an A* in the stats exam but a B in the controlled assessment, so that gives him an overall A.

Thrilled and proud!!!!!

Fingers crossed that it is Tiddy.

Siany that's so annoying about your mot, at least it's not a big bill though. What is it with all these broken toes and the way they happen, a banana tree falling of the fridge of all things. How's your cake going?
