Lizzy, I dont have the progels red, I always buy the red extra paste, big pot about a fiver, I love the purple though gets really dark, not sure what issues peeps have with them.

AYes thats very sad, mental health problems are very much in the news , apparently the academy he's from said, "Now your free genie" that actually brought tears to my eyes, unfortunately I can relate to that with my own son. Very very sad.

Ophelia is definitely fiddly but not bad as long as you make sure it's all dry - the hearts take longer than everything else so give them a proud before trying to take it off.

AIs that edible Kelsey or is it for removable stuff? I love the colour though...

Barbara - I really think you need to get some ice on your knee - you haven't got long before your hols have you? Did you go to the doctor? Am guessing not.......:(

AYou know me too well Kathy, no I didn't, just didn't want to spend 10hrs in a&e to be told I've bruised my knee. Thanks for your concern and everyones, guess I shouldn't be falling off a bike at 55, ha ha.

Yes I found the mat more fiddly than all the others, but you get used to it no doubt.

ABarbara I'm guessing you haven't got checked out cos you are worried it might effect your holiday? Problem is if that knee is fractured and you fly it's not going to go well.

You really should get it checked out. You don't want to end up in foreign A&E I know ours is slow but at least they speak English, well, some of them do lol

AThanks ladies! No - I didn't think it was edible.....ever the quest, eh?? I threw out all of my EdAble Arts earlier this year but I do love a bit of bling on a cake. I have the Magic Sparkles which are edible I think. Love the glittery toilet humour! I have seen pics of coloured "glitter" sugars before (maybe it was Pinterest - I don't know) but I have coloured sugar for years now and I wouldn't say you get a good enough sparkle - but then I am probably doing it wrong.

Totally agree! Here's a little story which may make you think Barbara: our good friends had a holiday booked to Rhodes a few years ago. About two weeks before, the husband fell down the stairs at work during a fire alarm test. Anyway, he thought no more of it and started limping. Well - it didn't go away and a few days before the holiday, he decided to go to the doctor who sent him to the hospital. Turns out he had broken his leg! The break was a north to south break if you get me and the crack was a few centimeters long. Next thing was he was in plaster and the holiday was cancelled and they got all their money back. The point was, the doctor said it could have turned very nasty and very quickly - so as Sian says, at least it's better the devil you know! At least take some ibuprofen (if you can take it??) and get the inflamation down. We are our own worst enemies sometimes - imagine you were giving advice to somebody else in the same situation....what would you say to them?

Lecture over!

Morning

Lizzy that whale cake was amazing, I flicked past it a couple of times before looking because i thought someone had put a photo of whales on by mistake. I use progels and have used red and haven't noticed anything.

Kelsey I saw that on the internet about Robin Williams how sad I love him. I'm sure I have something in one of my books where it shows you how to make your own edible glitter, don't think it uses sugar though.

You definitely should get checked out nanny, it could swell up more on the plane and that will cause a lot of pain. Don't you have a drop in small injuries clinic near you that you can go to instead of a&e.

AMorning all. :-)

Robin Williams dead, such sad news to wake up to isn't it? Suicide is devastating, I feel so sorry for his family.

I've missed loads, I've been so busy. Lovely cakes everyone, love your superhero cake Lizzy and congratulations on being in favourites. It's not daft to be so pleased about it, one of mine was once, I wasn't even around to see it but I read that it had been on here, I was delighted!

M4rvel I laughed out loud when you asked if it was for you!

Nanny I'm going to join in with the lecture. Get to A and E! Flying increases your risk of blood clots, an injury increases your risk of blood clots, put them them together and I'd say you can expect a blood clot. They can kill you left untreated. I'm not being melodramatic, it's a fact. Go to Neville Hall, they're quicker and cleaner than the Gwent.

I'll try to catch up properly later. :-)

Not cake related...

We're going to a BBQ at a work colleague/friend of my husband at the end of the month and staying over night.

I've never met them before.

What would you take?  A bottle of plonk doesn't quite seem enough.

I have quite a lot of chocolate cigarellos in stock.  I thought perhaps a choc cake, surrounded by the cigarellos and topped with strawberries?  Can't go too far wrong with that and it's quick and easy....  Is that an acceptable gift, do you think?

OK ladies, been to the new ystrad hospital, just probs, just badly bruised, oh and stay off the bikes!!

I do appreciate all all your concerns as your my lovely new friends, best to get things checked, especially at my age!!

ACC is playing up on my mobile. I'm losing stuff I've typed, got adverts everywhere and it's automatically logging me out when I close safari. I used to be permanently logged in, just open and close the page and pick up where I left off. It's doing my head in.

AOh dear Maisie thats terrible at such a young age, I guess what I meant was as you get older your bones as more likely to Break or cause more damage, and I strongly believe now I'm older things take longer to heal. Thankfully I'm a healthy old bird who shrugs of certain things coughs, colds etc. New motto, stay away from the bike unless I go to a field, ha ha.

I eat it if it's for personal use too :-) It's only non edible as it doesn't get digested, but then, neither do corn kernels!

In the big scheme of things a minute amount of plastic isn't going to harm you - after all, how many spiders is it you're meant to eat in your sleep each year? :-D

You make sure you listen to the docs nanny! I'm glad it's not anything serious :-)
