Don't mock me about having a jumper wardrobe Maisie...remember, I am very, very old! :-D  Winter nights will be drawing in soon......

Don't know why the photo doesn't show up!  I probably did something stupid.

Welcome Little Topper - this is a fast-running thread!  Let us see your dummy work when they're all done!

AAw Roxy sometimes I feel the same, fridge and dishwasher then they would really know I wasn't there lol !

Thanks Lizzy yes please if you could pm it to me I would be most grateful, I am currently being swayed to Mary Berry's, as this one fits my tins and not too many ingredients that I would probably never use again other than for carrot cake !

I am hanging my head in shame as I type Lizzy

I am the dish washer in my house Jo, I had a dish washer years ago but Mr Roxy would just leave them all over and not even scrape the leftover food off them so I got rid of it in the end as I needed the space in the kitchen. I've never really tried carrot cake myself but my brother likes it, I might make him one one day to try it.

AOh my god you guys, it's been like a draught here the past few days and I go for 5 minutes and it's like a sodding typhoon of posts here! Hahah!

Welcome little topper! Another Irish member, gray will be happy! With your cake technique question I believe it's already been answered. Draping. Your going to need a trial if you are like me. I feck draping up ALOT! Haha, but yes, individual pieces on top of an already covered tier.

So I went out to get edible gems for my engagement ring box cake and stack of cupcakes. Looking forward to that one! :D

I'm fine thanks Nanny been trying to make my garden look presentable. I have just been the doctors over my sciatica and she is sending me to a physio,( which the last doctor was suppose to do but never) and said as usual just keep taking the pain killers, I'm bloody sick of taking bloody pain killers so hopefully when I get the physio appointment it helps though I'm dreading it already.

Lizzy are you putting the recipe on the other forum? If not could I have it to please for future reference.

Siany how is your little boys foot?

AHe seems ok thanks Roxy. Had to change the dressing again tonight as the little monster got it wet (which we were told not to do) and it looks ok, skin has joined together again but it's very bruised, I think from the local. He is going to be in a min so I might get to do my bubbles tonight, That will be good :)

AI've had problems for years with sciatica and back problems too roxy. I went through physio and back classes which made it worse, then had an injection which gave some relief for a while, but it came back before physio could work on me again. This last one though has been brilliant. She isn't working where the pain is as it is too tender to touch, but she's prodding me on the other side where it doesn't hurt. I actually get relief now! Anyway, the point of that was if it's really sore where they work, try asking if they can work elsewhere on you. It's been a seriously better option for me!

I'll post the recipe on the ukbc, but I'll adjust it to UK measurements as it's in cups - I just sent no a photo as I was rushing out the door :-) I'll try and do it tonight, but it might be a day or two as I'm trying to get things ready for a party on Saturday. Just a leavers party for my youngest but it's choosing a small fortune :-o

AEvening all. :-)

Yes jo, I thought our numbers needed boosting cos nothing really happens here, never a thing to read!!!!!!!!! :-D Glad you got some help Niamh, I knew you would, everyone's so clever and talented here. And then there's me. The resident doofus! :-D

I can't stand the batter, much prefer the cake.

Carrot cake - can't say I'm fussed really. Maybe it's the thought of vegetables in a cake. I've nothing against vegetables mind, I love carrots on a cooked dinner or in coleslaw, just not in a cake.

Don't get too excited about physio for your sciatica Roxy, I went and they told me there's nothing they can do for me. :-( maybe you'll have more luck tho, I've got Leah to lug about and undo all the good work they were trying to do.

Kathy, nanny, I've got nothing against your jumper collections (:-D), it was more the way you said it Kathy. Or the way I read it. I'm going quietly crazy in this heat I think!

How was lunch Kuuushi?

AI wonder if that's why physio didn't work for me then Lizzy? She had me on the bed twisting and prodding my leg and back. It was winter but when she'd finished the sweat was dripping off me. She said "oh, was I hurting you?" Hurting me?! I'd rather give birth again than go through that again!

Did I read somewhere he's 2 Siany? A 2 year old not get a dressing wet? They're hoping aren't they? And he's male!

I'm dreading the physio already Maisie as I'm in pain everyday now with my hips, back legs and bum cheeks but my hip and legs are the worse, the doctor said it will hurt to do it but it might help. I try to do my exercise bike everyday because it does help sometimes but other times it causes that much pain I can't do it for a few days then so am back in square one again. We will see what happens when I get my appointment though she said it could take a while as they are very busy.

Siany, hope your little one is ok now. Hopefully he won't remember the doctors so won't be so traumatised if he has to go anywhere near a doctor in future :)

Love that cake Maisie!

Tiddy, hope you're able to make those cakes and the beast stays away!

Suzanne, I'm glad the cigarillos are ok, they're not cheap are they.

Kathy, congrats on your daugther winning the engineering prize. Brainy girl!

Hello and welcome to the thread Niamh/Little Topper! Your client wants a gorgeous looking cake. Do post photos when you've made it. We love photos on this thread lol

Jo, how about making some fondant carrots on top of the cream cheese frosting? You don't have to cover in SP and the fondant carrots should look quite good on top of a white cake :)

Kuushi, get well soon! I'm glad the fasting is over for you!

I thought I'd give everyone one last update on my friend Ness who had an aneurysm. The last time I physically saw her was the 17th. That time she thought she was on a boat and was constantly packing stuff and wouldn't sit still. She was discharged last week and 3 days after she was discharged, she rang me while we were en route to Clacton on Sea and we had a normal conversation! I still can't quite get my head around it. No sign of any confusion during our conversation. In fact she apologised for her 'behavior' in hospital. Crikey! I don't know if she's really out of the woods from a medical point of view, so I don't really want to celebrate just yet- don't wanna count my chickens and all that. But for now, it does look like she's 'back'. Thanks everyone for the emotional support and cwtches- it's really helped me get through what was a tough time, and caking definitely helped take my mind off things :D

Oh yeah, we got back today from Clacton on Sea, and I now need another holiday because I'm shattered from this one! Hubby's snoring kept me up every night grrr
