AOh a while nanny. I've had my choc on the worktop with no issues for 10 days, and sugar syruped vanilla for a week. I don't advocate that for customers, but a few days won't be a problem.

Edit - they hadn't gone off at this point, but the kids refused to leave it any more :-)

AEvening all, well that was an eventful evening. Took kids out this arvo and got back at 5 they wanted to all go up stairs and watch a film, result, I can make gelatine bubbles. Hour or so later (havent started the bubbles thought is watch an amazing wedding cake first) and my smallest small crys out and the biggest small says he's cut his foot, go check him and he pouring blood out his foot and has obviously got something in it. I can't get it out so off to A&E we go. Had to take all 3 kids as hubby away tonight, local anaesthetic to the foot and lots of screaming later a shard of glass comes out of his foot :(. My poor boy, he's only 2 and now doesn't like doctors. No gelatine bubbles tonight now.

I haven't really had a chance to catch up so sorry for not mentioning anyone but it's been emotional here tonight's :(

AHi kuuushi, I always do, and it was the last thing we said before I got in the car.

Hide your purse kuuushi, have you ever been there before? I warn you you'll spend loads, say hi to them or me. Not got any cakes on the horizon so no excuse to go, sadly.

AAw Siany, poor little thing! Big cwtches for him and for you. X

Nanny I think in this case of they're a friend of yours, yes they should let you know what they thought if the cake, they should thank you without being prompted too. A paying customer is a bit different I think. No news is good news, you'll soon hear about it if there's a problem. My sons cake is still ok (choc sponge) it was out for about 5 days and been in the fridge since. It's not fresh enough to be served at a party but it's still fine to eat. I made a plain sponge (uniced) for my auntie last Wednesday, it's been kept in a tin, I tasted it today and it's still really fresh. Probably wouldn't be unless it's been in a tin tho. It annoys me when people don't cut it for days too. By the time they do then it's past it's best and whoever's eating it thinks that's what your cake tastes like.

Night jo. :-)

AAwh tidds that's not great! Is there not something that can be done when you have the attacks? There has to be something they can do for you. It's cruel!

Well either way let me know what us happening. Would be nice to see you there and you never know a different atmosphere may take your mind of it. I doubt it will but it's worth a try if your feeling okay! :) xx

AI did charge him Maisie, he's a friend but I'm not a charity either, however he did go silent when I told him the price when he first asked me to make it ha ha, obviously when I delivered it,he made a point of saying, its just cake, don't you just love it when people say that?

ASorry Lizzy, missed your post. Love the punk aliens on a black cake idea, I'm gona tell my mam, she'll love it!

Nice to see you tiddy, sending more health vibes, don't think they're doing you any good tho are they?

I HATE when people say "it's just a cake" nanny! No, it's not just a cake! It's hours and hours of work, hours of planning, days of worrying. It's days thinking about the recipient and how much you want to do a good job for them. It's a big ole dose of concentrated love, decorated with an even bigger dose of dedication.

Or sometimes it's felt tip pens and a dead alien! :-D

AYou did make me chuckle kuuushi, going to your mum because you're poorly (not chuckling at you *being* poorly obviously!). My sister does that; there's nothing like your mum when you feel ill is there?

When hubby is ill be likes to be left alone, so he thinks that's what I want when I'm ill. No! Share my misery! Mums will make you feel better though :-)

I don't know how I missed that you'd fainted though? Was it the fasting? I'm probably being really gormless here, but I take it you can drink water during the fast so you're not dehydrated?

Hope you feel better soon though x

As far as I'm aware, you're not allowed to consume anything between dawn and dusk - including water. Although I could be wrong...

AMorning all, little dude seems ok this morning so day out as planned I think. Thanks for all your well wishes for him. He keeps saying 'doctor fix it' so I don't think he is going to be terrfied of doctors which was my worry yesterday.

Kuuushi and tiddy hope you feel better soon. Kuuushi I think you fainted because you were coming down with this bug, that mixed with fasting was enough to knock your body out.

Maisie, love the dead alien cake, great family contribution :)

M4rvel £60 but but but it's 'just cake' :D *ducks from thrown objects*

Lizzy, I'm just like your husband, I like to be left alone when I'm ill. Not much chance of that here though lol

Erm have I missed anyone?

Oh yes, nothing like mammys offers of cups of tea haha!

I wish Lizzy, there's nothing. Down to not even being able to clean your teeth so you have to make extra sure you clean your teeth like three times before you go to bed so you don't stink. It's brutal! I would have given anything for a glass of water! Nevermind though lol, it's all done now until next year!
