AMorning guys, having a terrible time. Think I'm burning the candles at both ends. Not in work today, fainted in the bathroom!

My body temperature has suffered recently and I think it's from working full time and doing the cakes. Really need to find a part time job, it's getting ridiculous now!

Show us the peony Siany!

Maisie talking about cupcake cases, have you seen the edible ones in tesco? Has anyone heard of them?

AThanks Roxy, I've been watching lots of Paul Bradford videos and changed from corn flour to icing sugar. I make sure I knead it enough until the underside is smooth and I roll it out by spinning it 90degrees until it's too big to spin then use a rolling pin. I don't add tylo to it just knead it enough. I roll it about 5mm thick and it seems to do the trick!

I used to lift the sugarpaste with my hands but getting much better results by doing it with the pin now!

Tiddy glad to hear your feeling better now.

Kuuushi hope your ok, I passed out myself yesterday as I was in so much pain with my legs and that combined with the heat was to much for me, I'm not to bad now still in pain so taking it easy this morning but got loads I need to get done, you all know what it's like if you don't do it yourself it doesn't get done.

No kuuushi - I think there's not enough in the packet to attract me - there are only 6.  I had heard of them but when you mentioned it just now it reminded me to check it again.  I meant to say that I really liked your cake with the chocolate fruit on.  I missed loads and you may have said this already - but what was inside?  Just chocolate cake?  Sorry I've so much to catch up on but not in a cakey mood right now.

I do everthing the same as you just described Kuuushi nut just not having any luck with mine lately, hopefully going back to my old way of buttercreaming the cake will solve my problems but not had a chance to try yet. I only asked about the tylo as you said you were considering adding some and wondered if you did. Do buttercream or ganache your cakes? I have the free classes on the Paul Bradford site are you a member?

AYeah Roxy, we have a majorly differ t heat in the UK than abroad. It's so heavy and thick and consistently hot even in a breeze. Everything got on top of me and well the inevitable happened. H2b keeps telling me to decide. I can't have two full time jobs he says, you'll burn yourself out he says. Guess I should listen to him more often! Are your legs okay now?

Tiddy I'm soo glad that your attack was a one off! Hope your feeling better, and you get back to cake ninja training. At least you can sit in the fridge when it's too warm, you know being so small and all that! :D hehe

Kathy, 6?!!! That's mental for the price. I'm sure we could make out own with multiple layers of rice paper. Ohh I feel a project coming on haha! There's vanilla and jam and cream inside the cake just covered in chocolate so and white choc dipped raspberries :)

AYeah Roxy free member on Paul Bradford the free videos are great aren't they?

I ganached my last cake with the white panels, the one that was apparently dry in the middle and went back to buttercream for the last two the white choc sp one and the anniversary one yesterday.

I'm finding better results from thin buttercream!

My legs , hips and back are still paining Kuuushi but to be honest it's like that most days so I'm use to it. It was really bad when I got up yesterday so I took paracetamol but didn't realise I had no ibuprofen to take with them. By the time I had been to my nan's and done the shopping and bought some and got home to take them the pain was to bad for the tablets to make a dent, I was only in the house for about five minutes before I passed out so at least I was at home, If I can take tablets when it starts to get bad it is manageable but if I've popped out and not took my bag and it starts within fifteen minutes I can hardly move for the pain so I just try to keep on top of it and get use to it.

Come to think of it I took my daughters bed down and set her new one up the day before and was sorting through her stuff all day so no wonder I was so bad when I got up the next morning, I'm terrible if I decide I want to rearrange the house or decorate I don't plan I just get up and do it all.

ARoxy that's awful, do you have arthritis or something like that?

My mum has osteoarthritis and she goes through hell with it. All the docs say is that it's gonna get worse so buckle up. She takes co-codamol to help her pain as she can't take the stronger stuff. Last time she tried we ended up in hospital with her!

So I can really feel what your going through with bones, such a cruel world sometimes.

I love this thread. It's not just about cake, it's like we are all friends here just gossiping on lol

They think it's sciatica Kuuushi but won't diagnose they just keep telling me to take pain killers, they gave me co-codamol once I took two and had to lie on the couch after ten minutes before I hit the floor they don't agree with me at all, so I take paracetamol and ibuprofen to keep it at bay and if it gets bad I take whatever I can get from the chemist like paramol. I have to go the doctors today to pick my daughter's asthmas medicines up so I'm gonna make an appointment to see them again because it's just getting worse, I can't even sit comfortable most of the time as even my bum cheeks pain.

I love this thread to I don't know why it took me so long to actually jump in and talk to people instead of just reading the posts, I think I felt like a bit of an impostor but was made to feel welcome instantly, I'm glad I chose this thread as your right we are all friends on here, I've read some of the other threads and they are so harsh to people it would have put me off coming back on if I had gone on one of those threads. Luckily I found all you lovely cakey friends instead

AOuch!! Doctors are a load of tosh sometimes! Demand that you get something or you'll go to prinecare and get a second opinion. They don't like that lol!

Same here about the thread, everyone is so lovely. It's not competition here it's support and that's what lots of people need to push them in the right direction some of the other threads are mental. They slate other people for stupid things! Honestly, there's no need for it!

Like I don't like using ganache for crumb coat and prefer buttercream. But lots of other people prefer ganache. We don't slate each other we give each other a gentle nudge because it could just be where it went wrong the first time and to try again!

No I hadn't seen that!  Thanks.  Maybe Suzanne should go check it out and then she can have all the cupcake cakes in her colours.  Suzanne - do you go to Twins?  I stopped going there about a year ago when my car got a puncture in their car park!

Roxy - I hear your problems with your sciatica - have you tried going to an osteopath?  I had very similar problems and my GP put me on all sorts of painkillers a few years ago but they disagreed with me.  Then they said that there was this thing with complementary medecine - you get 6 goes for free with an approved practitioner.  I found one across the street to my house and I haven't looked back.  It was something to do with the sacro-illiac joint in my hip - came from years of commuting into Liverpool Street hanging on a strap.

You know - it is more than just cake on here.  I cannot tell you how supportive you all are to me - am still having family stuff happening and I just love to tune in and escape for a while.  And you are right - there are some threads where comments are not so forgiving as on here.  I think that says a lot about us all!

Tiddy so glad you're feeling better, I didn't watch the video you linked as that stuff scares the crap out of me. Hope it's stays away for you now.

Kuuushi and roxy hope you both feel better soon.

I can't remember anymore, sorry lol

Right peony. Dropped it *insert horrified look*. It's not too badly damaged and it can be used for my dummy cake but I wouldn't use it for a customer.

AKuuushi do you think fasting, especially in this heat, contributed to you fainting? I hadn't seen those edible cases before but they are expensive for 6. And people would think they were paper and throw them away anyway!

Sounds like sciatica to me roxy. I feel it all the way down into the ball of my foot sometimes. Why don't you get on with co codamol? Is it because they're strong? If that's the reason try some over the counter strength. They're 8 mg codeine as opposed to 15 or 30 prescription strength. Also diclofenac is an effective anti inflammatory but you can't have it if you're asthmatic. Might be worth asking for something like that when you go back to the gp.

Kathy, glad you can come here and be distracted. It's a great escape from real life isn't it.

Fabulous peony Siany! I just showed my mam, she couldn't believe it was edible. :-)

It's literally flash flooded the office car park and the lightning is horrible.  I feel sorry for people landing at City Airport right now (they fly over my office building as the runway is about 100m away)  and the sky is completely black.  I know the heat is terrible - remember a while back in this thread I said I was hoping for snow!  All the street lamps have come on!

81F is about 27C Maisie, boiling! *melts*

Kathy I love weather like that, those poor people landing though! I was wanting to go to morocco in September for a week or so but after hearing of all these planes go missing or going down I'm too scared!

If this is not funny, please tell me. I may need help! Hahahaha
