Oh snow! Wherefore art thou snow?!

The sun is killing me and my sugarpaste!!! x.x

Shhh Kuuushi I'll go off you :), though you're more likely to get it than me. I hate the snow, well that's a lie, I like it, for a day, then it can bugger off lol

AI love the heat. When I'm up and running though I'm investing in an air con unit for the kitchen for when I'm caking. I think it's the only way :)

Nanny, beautiful cake!

I'd love an aircon unit. I love the sun, but there has to be aircon when it's hot!

ANope kuuushi, really trying not wanting to point out my own mistakes but if you look closely on the 2nd pic you can see the sponge showing through!

AThey range hugely in price Kuuushi. I'll get what I can afford at the time. As it's for the business I can write it off with the tax man as well so that's a saving.

Bashini, they are made from gelatin, probably what you already made but just by a different name.

AThanks everyone. My mam loved the cake, I picked her and the dog up and brought them to my house on a pretext (cos I couldn't carry it and drive). She told me it was his birthday today, I said "oh is it? How old is he?", pretended I didn't know. She walked in, saw the cake on the table and burst into tears! He's already had some roxy, he loves it, it's the only thing he steals if if he can, he leaves everything else alone!

Nanny I've looked as closely as I can and I can't see any cake through the SP. In fact, when I saw the first photo I admired the brush embroidery but thought how it's still quite obviously one of your cakes with lovely smooth SP.

I hate the sun. There's nothing desirable or attractive about swollen fingers, a red, sweaty face and several thousand more freckles as far as I'm concerned! Before anyone says it (people usually do), no I don't complain about the rain and the cold. I wouldn't complain about the snow if the whole country didn't come to a standstill at the mere threat of it either!

AMaisie, if the country could still function with the snow I would have no problem with it. It's the fact everything stops for 3 inches of snow. The Swedish laugh at us because of it!

AThree inches Siany, you're lucky. If Leah's school gets three flakes on the yard they close!

AIf there's a light dusting of snow with us the whole of asda, tesco, co-op, sains, morrison, waitrose and any corner shops ALL sell out of bread and milk. It's ridiculious!!

I mean what can you make from bread and milk? Toast and tea? Sandwiches at a push?

Would be much better to get a sack of spuds and milk. At least you can make a warm meal from that!

Nanny, seriously I had to look hard, pull-my-glasses-out-of-my-bag hard to see it!! So what? It's amazing!

So the cake lady had the cake, even paid me for it which makes me think even more that it was fishy. But it's done. The cake has gone. I baked it on Monday she had it today. I sugar syrup brushed the layers before filling as well. If it's hard this time I am going to question my entire batch of recipes! GRR

She's going to text me tonight to see how it is. Wait and see eh?

AOh Kuuushi wait and see time now.

I hate the way people shop when there is even the possibility of snow, as you say bread and milk, but in fairness I could live on tea and toast :)

AKuuushi you said "if it's hard this time". Please change that to "if she says it's hard this time". I honestly dont believe it was hard in the middle and so bad it went in the bin. The fact she wants another one just reinforces it. Let us know what she says :-)

AHaha I'm expecting the worst guys. If it's not hard she will say one of/most of/all of the following: Too heavy Too sweet Wanted strawberry jam not raspberry jam and it ruined the ENTIRE DAY It had black bits in the cream (probably has never seen real vanilla in her life) The icing was too sweet (no sh!t Sherlock) The edges were fine but the middle was hard (lol) My dog ate it when I wasn't looking so I want a refund God came to me and told me the cake was fattening so it's your fault! Refund me Your cake made my kid choke when he was bouncing on the trampoline and eating it the same time I'm a b!tch and don't like it so it's crap

You know because she's plucking out excuses from her arse!
