AUm Jo, what mini cake?
Yes use mine practically everyone I make a cake problay the most used tool I have, so much you an do with it.
AOh sorry i thought you said thats thr cake you were doing this week when i said i had another frozen one... ? i was rush reading posts that day as having a mare at my work lately.
Ok thanks i will order one
AMorning all. :-)
Thanks everyone. :-) The bulges are there I promise! They don't show up as well on camera and strategic positioning of the paw prints helped! Glad bob looks like he's up to no good cos shadow (the real one) usually is! Can't remember who asked (haven't had much sleep) but it's shadows birthday today and I made it to cheer my mother up. She's had a tough year so it's nice to have an excuse. She thinks he's human, so does he. She treats him like he's her child.
In a rush this morning but I'll post a link to my cutters later Kathy, or a photo if I ca t find a link. I don't like them much but they're the best I've got.
Gota go, byee.
ABefore I go, jo was your brown chocolate flavoured? Or just coloured brown? I had real trouble with brown the other day, it was chocolate flavoured tho, thought that might have had something to do with it.
And thankyou for bulging advice.
Byee. :-)
Jo - I recently used a brown petal dust - when I did the garden cake. The Sugarflair paste was not working for me in this heat. I got a decent colour. I think it was Nut brown or similar.
Thanks Barbara and Maisie for the cutter tips. I really don't have a lot of experience with tappits - I hate the darn things as I can never get them out. I saw a YT where somebody put clingfilm over the cutters and then pushed in the paste - well, that was a disaster, I can tell you!
Off to call the council to find out why they have put a bl**dy great black post right by my front wall - which is a bit of an eyesore when I look out of my window now!
Kathy
AKathy, I have the tappitt sets and not used them yet either! I saw a woman literally tap it in the counter to get it out.
She pressed the GP in the mould and cleaned up the edges then flicked the mould and slapped it on the counter. It came clean out!
Yeah, let's hope she doesn't literally choke on the cake. I'd prefer to do that in person with my own hands :D
AKuuushi, still thinks its odd, if the cake is so bad, why does she want another one?
Morning all, quick check in before i go and get annoyed with some black SP
Lovely cake maisie :)
kuuushi...good luck with the ramming
Urgh having a moan not about cake but HMRC. Their letters are as confusing as s**t.
ANanny, my sentiment exactly! But she won't get the better of me I'm bigger and better than that!
Sorry Maisie I love the little husky cake!
Oh man I can't wait for fasting to be over roll on next Monday!

That's what I meant Nanny by 'mini' cake lol !
Maisie no it was coloured brown but its not a great colour tbh and its VERY sticky. Kathy thanks the petal dust sounds good but I now don't have time to order anything booo :-(
APetitecat it is meant to finish on Monday 28th but it all depends on the sun and the moon!
It's looking good put it that way lol!
Morning all
Maisie you cake is so cute your mum will love it, and I'm guessing so will the dog as if she's anything like me with mine he will be getting some to.
Nanny why don't you airbrush you mini black?
Jo I had trouble getting white SP to brown until I bought the progels brown and that worked great.
Marvel I haven't done a football cake but I saw a set of hexagon cutter in Dunelm the other day if you could get a pentagon set you could use them both together for any size football you make.
Marvel just spotted these thought they might be useful for future football cakes
AI'm going to have to go out for dinner next week to celebrate he end of fasting. Oh man am I gonna eat! Hahaha
AKuuushi I'm on a diet that's bad enough but fasting I just plain couldn't do it !
Roxy I will have to look at that brown, is it on Ebay ??
AFound it Roxy on Ebay, thanks not sure to buy now as won't come in time. Maybe I should anyway for future Svens !!
AHello everyone,
Maisie, your cake is beautiful and the little dog is so cute!!! :)
I used squires kitchen SP for the first time today and it was fantastic. It's pale yellow colour as I couldn't get M&B, I ordered them, glad I did it!!! Thought I'd share it with you all if anyone wanted to try it!!!
AArgh stupid gelatin bubbles are more like gelatin scene from alien with goop lol
Anyone made them before?
ANo problem Jo. :) Sorry I don't know about pro gel as I haven't tried them. Love to hear the feedback if anyone has used them. :-)
Siany, sorry to hear about the gelatine trouble... Have made gelatine flowers but not bubbles... :(
AI have no idea what this technique is... Can someone point me to a picture?
Edit: oh wow just found them, good luck with those!!! Let me know how it turns out bits given me a crazy idea for a Christmas cake!
AHa right Jo, that next Tuesday for the mini.
Oh good grief, airbrushing a cake black, omg, don't trust myself.
AJo, I use progels all the time got, black,Brown, yellow, pink and purple, much prefer those, so concentrated.
AAhh Christmas, where the snowman brings the snow!
Oh snow! Wherefore art thou snow?!
The sun is killing me and my sugarpaste!!! x.x
AI'm not Kathy and I think that's the issue, they are just too heavy. I'm going to try and find some water balloons as i think they would be better.
I need to put some more coats on these ones and see how they go. They are just a practice go to see how they work . Learnt lots from it so was worth while.
The mess is easy to clean as it sets like jelly and you can just pick it up :)
Bashini, crystal flowers are next on my list but I need some cutters first :)
