Hi Everyone!

I was asked to make this cake, and I am having some difficulty figuring out how to do it. I know how to carve it, I was just having some issues figuring out how to make all the embellishments. If anyone knows how, please let me know! Thank you! icon_smile.gif

Blucy - maybe you could find some large size candy molds with olive branches and a shield design similar to the embelishments on the ring and mold chocolate or gumpaste pieces to attach to the cake. Or what about that method where you use royal icing to make a mold. Don't know for sure how to do it but I think you enlarge the design to the size you need, pipe it in royal, let it harden and then impress it into GP to make a mold.

Bh - I lived in Texas for 10 years or I would have had to ask, too. icon_smile.gif

*phew* sometimes we can't see the forest for the trees - and i was hesitant in asking - but then i thought - oh well no one can see me blushing - icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

Have been thinking that perhaps the embellishments are made from molds and once adheared to the cake then just painted over with the gold colour - perhaps. ???

It also looks like it may have been air brushed in gold

Yes, A & M is a university in Texas. I was thinking it might be impressions made into the fondant and then airbrushed over but I wasn't sure how to make the impressions. Any other thoughts would be appreciated! Thank you!
