Another Dummy Cake Question

Thread Starter
I'm creating my first Dummy Cake. Four tiers, with the top tier a real cake for the cutting ceremony. I am covering my fake tiers in fondant. What can I use to adhere the fondant to the styrofoam?

I used a spray bottle with water but I think some people use piping gel or a light coating of frosting. HTH

I use water, just put the dummy under running water for a sec or spray it.

I have found that round dummies are just fine using water. Square dummies, need that extra tackiness that piping gel provides, especially when tackling those pesky corners!

Cover your dummy with Glad Press N Seal before covering with fondant. Then, you can reuse the dummies. I use a VERY lt. coating of piping gel. I like the way the fondant sticks snuggly to that.
