Ranking cakes

This may be a stupid question, but I still need to ask.

When I look through the galleries at all the cakes, I see a tab that sends you to all of the top ranked cakes.

How do you determine this? By how many comments? by the number of views? by the ones that are saved to favorites?

I'm asking this because there are several cakes I would of liked to of ranked, but I do not see any prompts that allow me to do this.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

Thank-You!

Hi mcginnis...I think Jackie could probably answer this question best but I'll give it a shot.

There use to be a star rating system for all cakes in the gallery (like there is for the contests) but members began to notice that the rating system was being abused. Others thought rating cakes in the gallery wasn't constructive. A vote was taken and the majority decided to eliminate the rating system.

My guess is that the option to view top-rated cakes in the gallery is a leftover from the old rating system.
