Awww.... I am so sad for you guys! What a bunch of shmucks to just let it die after all your hard work!!

I briefly skimmed through this and the previous thread that started it all, and was hoping for good news. I live 8 miles south of Cincinnati Ohio, in Ky and they have cottage food laws, and we don't. It seems a simple thing to just move up there, but it's actually inner city slum, and outer city slums until you get about 20 miles in, plus I have 3 kids in a real good school, which is hard to find, and one of them is just starting kindergarten this year so I CAN"T move! We also have a really awesome church we attend 3 days a week and don't want to drive from outta state to get there.

Maybe I could get some pointers the next time you start this up again, I am keeping my fingers crossed mentally (hard to hold a spatula or icing bag with physically crossed fingers icon_confused.gif ) for you!

I read this quote in one of the links posted...

"Could you slow down a little? I'm having trouble keeping up with all these bills we're passing," state Rep. Dan Gattis, R-Georgetown, commented sarcastically from the microphone early in the evening.

I have much respect for Gattis calling out these fools, yet again.

You know I, like most Americans, would be fired if I performed so poorly at my job.

YOU CAN FIRE THEM!! VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! and talk to everyone you see about doing the same thing. A new survey concludes that 80% of Americans are conservatives, yet we have the most liberal government we ever have had in the history of the nation.

Just something to think about.... Maybe their are other options? I am open to any ideas!

Please feel free to start a new thread if you'd like to discuss this more (although be forewarned that it will likely turn ugly and eventually be locked).

This thread is so large already that I prefer it be about the Texas bill and only that. We worked our butts off this spring, and are getting ready to do it again next session. Thanks! thumbs_up.gif

How in the world would you know if someone bought her cake supplies with food stamps and how would it affect you? With your income and family size you're probably eligible for food stamps, like I am, and if you've ever gotten them you know it's not enough to really feed the family each month, much less have leftover money for cake supplies.

Anyhow, I'm getting sidetracked here...but what you posted is insulting.

Well said Texas_Rose! Ditto all of that- thumbs_up.gif

----Insert STOP sign here----

Enough, please. Will both sides please refrain from responding - this is a great thread with a ton of information and a lot of supporters and many of us would hate to have it locked or removed.

Please see my edit of my last post, and then have a nice day! thumbs_up.gif

P.S. Thank you for your concern over my monthly cycles, Texas hose, but they have yet to resume as I am a breastfeeding mother. Please don't get the thread shut down for everyone else by your INTENTIONALLY insulting post.

And Moderators: Please don't shut this down due to this nonsense, I will voluntarily delete anything you find INTENTIONALLY insulting, as I hope others would. It would not be fair to those who have worked so hard and have so much information to share.

I would hope that this thread doesn't get locked down, but that you Annacakes, would be disqualified as a member here. Calling people names as you just have, is completely unacceptable here, and it shows the true nature of who you are. And we all know this was not an 'accident'. I think you owe a big apology to Texas Rose.......

Oh and cs_confections, I didn't let myself go to AGS this weekend. Budgeting for the kids toys for Christmas, I'll buy mine in Feburary icon_razz.gificon_biggrin.gif

Anyway, to save the original intent and integrity of this thread, let's keep it a SUPPORT AND INFORMATION thread and refrain from allowing it to be turned into a DEBATE thread.

While we can't stop someone from making a post in an attempt to antagonize and change the nature of this thread, we can choose to not respond and let them take their need to argue elsewhere.

And before it's addressed: It's not about not allowing free speech, it's about keeping the thread in line with the original topic and intent, as per CC's rules we all agreed to when becoming members. Now have a great day!

OK, Anna, THAT IS ENOUGH.

This is a positive thread that means a lot to Texas bakers. If you have an issue, you need to bring it up individually in PM. Please take your negativity somewhere else and not ruin the one place we have to discuss an important issue. You are going to get it deleted or locked with your behavior, AND IT NEEDS TO STOP NOW.

Sweet...last weekend in Feb is the Austin cake show! I am link impaired so go to capitalconfections. com and there is a link. Lots of great stuff to see and EAT! They always have something for the kids to do also. Last year I think it was decorating cupcakes. Great vendors and new products. Cake and a weekend in Austin. Priceless!

KM...I am putting together my cookie list for the holidays and have got all my reps and senator right at the top. Just a suggestion for all you TCFL supporters!

I just want to make sure everyone who participated in this last session knows that we are going again. Please come to the Facebook page for more information! When our bill is actually filed, I will start a new thread here on CC so that we don\\'t have to wade through two years and 136 pages of information to find out what\\'s happening now!
