Ok I have to get my "Hunting" cake done this coming week. So I thought I would make the MMF this weekend. My question is...how do I do MMF camoflaged? Do I cut different little odd-shaped pieces in different colors and just stick them on the cake together? Not really sure on this one...Please help!
I'd color batches of fondant/MMF in the colors you need, then tear off chunks of each and make a ball out of them all together without mixing the colors too much, then roll out. Or you could roll out the individual colors and cut irregular shapes out and then sort of overlap them and go over really well with a rolling pin to join together - then flip it over to see how it looks and use that side for the top (or side that will be seen)....maybe practice a little first to find the best method. Never done it before, but that's how I would try it...HTH!
I just made camoflage MMF for a hat and vest to put on a bear. make your individual colors then roll into little balls of each color. Put together on the rolling mat then roll out, they blend nicely. You dont have to worry about it being perfect cause camo isnt.
