Hello- I could not fly to San Diego and meet my cousin to attend the San Diego cake Show because my job was terminated. If any California cc attend the cake show can you please share your photos.
If you were not able to can you share cakes that impressed you, new trends you saw, demos you attended. Thanks.
I live in CA and would have loved to go but didnt know about it. How do you get that kind of information? I've tried googling for cake shows in Orange county but no luck.
My cousin is stationed in MirMar and tells me about the cake show. His wise mentioned you can look under the website American Cake Magazine under events and gives you a schedule of cake shows in US
I went and had a blast... if I could upload the photos i would, but its not my work if i knew how to i would... i can add them to my myspace if you all really want to see the photo? let me know

Hi Indigo-
Your the best! I just appreciated that you took the time the time to share your photos. I called my cousin's wife. She so so excited about cake central forum and you sharing the photos.
Again thanks. I hope when then economy is better my husband and I plan to visit my cousin and his wife and also attend the ICES cake show in San Diego and the La jolla show next year.
If you go to the California Cake Club website I believe they have a link to the San Diego cake club. As far as I know, this is the only cake show in socal.
Thank you for sharing the photos. My gosh, what a lot of entries!
Do you know how many in total? And can you tell who the winners were?
May I ask who is the person in charge of this show too? I'd love to contact them.
KimAZ
The San Diego Cake Club puts this show on every year... you can email them directly:
http://www.sandiegocakeclub.com/
thank you so much for posting these pics
some of those cakes are just breathtaking. I mean I don't even know how they do some of those techniques!
I did have a question: in a lot of pics the cakes were on sorta satin, pleated poofy stands. Were they provided or is that just a style I hadn't seen before.
thanks again for sharing.
There isn't anyone specifically to contact on that website. If anyone knows who is in charge of the show, please let me know.
Thanks!
KimAZ
I am glad everyone is enjoying the pics. The San Diego Cake Club works hard all year to put together the show.
Kim - there are a few people in the club that head the planning team for the cake show. You should be able to send a general email through the website and it will get routed to the correct people. I would need to check with them before giving out contact information. Is there a question that I may be able to answer for you? I wasn't part of the planning committee for the cake show but I am a member/historian of the cake club.
Hello a lot of this cakes are from San Ysisdro Adult school Mary's class and if you have questions about the cake show you can contact Linda from do it with icing in San Diego. that's the name of her store. or Amy Malone she has a school of cake decorating in San Diego too.
Oh my!! Those are some amazing entries
I be the judges had quite a time coming to a disission(sp?).
The whole event was so amazing and interesting, it was my first time at this event. Really learned alot from just being there and looking at all the wonderful cakes people did. I entered a foreign technique as a non professional and got 1st place, I had a wonderful experience and there will be another cake show in Del Mar. I have lots of pics I can share, feel free to ask.
PLease keep us informed when the next cake show is in Del Mar. My cousin iand his wife are stationed in San Diego. He is a pilot and she works in the computer field. but both love cake decorating.
I will save money and fly to the next show to meet my cousin and his wife.
