I don't think their scary looking, I really haven't gotten into them either. Mabye if I make one I'll like em' better~ I do think that pic is cute~
The people cakes like in this Wilton design don't really bother me, but what's weird to me are the cakes that actually look like people. There's just something wrong about slicing into a cake head that looks like a real human head! 
(although those kind of cake sculptures never cease to amaze me!)

I don't like doing people either, I can 't make them look right!
I don't think those cake people look scary. I'm with all the others though, I haven't tried to make them myself yet, but I'm sure it is harder than it looks.
I will confess that I delivered a Tinkerbell cake to a customer that was pretty scary! She had huge bug-eyes. Yikes. I was so unhappy with it that I only charged her 1/2 price.
