is there a secret on what to use besides fondant to get the rope rolled out fine enough without breaking...should i use something with the fondant? HELP...

Yes, there is a secret. It's called a clay gun or clay extruder.

You can find them in the clay section of the craft store. My favorite is this one:

I have use tooties rolls rolled uot and pull apart twizlers. hope this helps

thanks for the tip on the extruder....and I have one....didn't think...

it also helps to use half fondant and half gumpaste - the added gumpast makes it more stretchy & pliable .. and your able to roll it alot smaller than with fondant alone .. HTH!

There is a tip with the clay extruder that looks like 3 over lapping circles. If you use this, you can just twist a single extracted string and it looks like rope. Took me a while to figure out what that particular tip was for but it works great. I use it on almost all of my cakes for menicon_smile.gif
