I've never made one but if I were going to I would take whatever size fondant it needs to be, color it to be a yellow-brown and use a toothpick to poke holes very close together to get that texture look of a bulletin board. HTH

My oops, I was thinking about using an edible image to make a plaque when I read bulletin board. Please excuse my mistake.

You mean like cork?

I wouldn't worry much about texture since cork bulletin boards are smooth.

I'd start with light brown fondant, then experiment with different things to damp blot with water. Sponge, cheesecloth, towel, whatever!

IMO, it's the color variation you're going for and getting fondant wet definitely changes it's color.

Maybe you could experiment with different liquids too, like alcohol to see what kind of effect they make.

Ooo! This is exciting! I can't wait to hear what works!
