I was asked to make cookies for someone who just made a national swimming team and I have no idea what to make and the woman isn't quite sure either. Its a cookie bouquet and she said stars would be okay but wanted to know if I could think of something better. All I can think of is a swim cap in their colors, maybe goggles? (although I have not found any great looking goggles so far, plus I don't know how they would look on a stick)

Anybody have any suggestions? I'm clueless on this one

I was recently asked to do "swimmer" cookies too. I couldn't come up with any good ideas. Luckily it was around valentines day so we went with hearts in their school colors. I know that's not any help to you but I'd love to hear cookie ideas for a swim team too. Good luck!!

I was at a store in Santa Ana/Costa Mesa, CA recently and they had the cutest swimming related cutters - trunks, bikini top & bottom and flip flops. I just checked their website and the bikini top is listed as sunglasses too. I don't know if I can post a link to the store here so PM me if you want the link. HTH.

Edited to add that a quick google search pointed me to a store in Seattle that also had a swimsuit cutter.

you can do gingerbread shaped men with swim suits, or just swim suits.

a stop watch.. the kind with 1.2.3.4 all the way around

medals... uhhh. my sister is a swimmer (olympic hopeful before she retired) you think i would have better ideas... maybe .

water bottles or gatorade...

goggles is a good idea, but you might have to make your own cutter

here a link for a swim suit cutter

What great ideas!! I think if I were to do a swim bouquet I'd now do it with stars, swim trunks, a one-piece swimsuit (you could copy the colors of their team suits), love the stop watch idea and medal/trophy idea too.
I know it wasn't my original question but I gained some great ideas. Thanks to both of you!!

I assume these things will be cookies cut and cooked in particular shapes. What about adding the flag. I know it seems obvious but noone has mentioned that. You could have starting blocks, little tiny swimming pools with lane ropes-(rectangular biscuits with lines on), presentation podium, they also use flippers and kickboards while training which you could include. icon_smile.gif

hope this helps

Wow! These are great ideas! This will help me out for swim team this summer! On my end, I did towel cookies with the swim team logo on them (just like the ones they use). swim trunks for the boys, one piece for the girls and bottles of suntan lotion. My idea this summer is to do t-shirts with the logo on them, play with goggles, etc, etc. There are a ton of ideas here now! icon_smile.gif Thanks everyone!

Honeydukes I was thinking the same thing -- Coppergifts.com and Kitchengifts.com both have two piece and one piece suit cutters, as well as trunks and coppergifts has a torso cutter too.

You could use a square cutter and hand-round the corners to make swim paddles; put a half circle rounded edge on a rectangle for a kickboard, then there's the surfboard cutters (very cool) diving board cutters, swim caps, etc. etc. The list goes on and on! icon_biggrin.gif
