I just received the 7 oreo cookie molds I ordered from Spinning Leaf. They look super cool and I was wondering if anyone has used them that have any helpful hints for me. TIA.
LOL, no specific question. I just wanted to double-check to see if anyone had any tips, other than what the tutorial said. Thanks for responding. I have them in the freezer right now. They should be fine.
I have bought and used them before. Right now I ordered the dog paw mold for a wedding shower...they sent me a really cool free one as well. Pretty easy...just fill mold about 1/2 way with melted chocolate and push oreo down to bring it up along seems n side of cookie, then take a teaspoon and cover top of mold, tap a few times on table to get out air bubbles and I pop in freezer for a few minutes...yu can tell they r done when you hold them up and bottom looks cloudy,,,that way you know they are done...then just flip onto a cou;le of layers of paper towels...easy. fun.
I have several of them as well, but they were too thick for me as far as cookie and chocolate.
But as far as the molds go, they are top notch! Made all my other ones seems like plastic wrap!
Have used them before. Just don't do what I did the first time I used them. I put the Oreos in the mold, covered them with chocolate & left them in the fridge overnight to make sure that the chocolate had set. BIG MISTAKE. I could not get them out. I went to the website & did as they said. Left them in the fridge for 20-30 mins, till the chocolate has set & then they pop right out.
Forget the fridge. Pop them in the freezer for 5 minutes and they're done. If you're using compound chocolate (the disks) you want to shock the chocolate with a low, low temp.
