I have never done blown sugar but would love to participate. I think this is a phenomenal idea - Wow! If someone comes up with instructions, count me in for a piece.

Ditto here! I would love to participate!!!!! I think this is a fabulous idea, and it would be an AWESOME cake!!!!!!

I agree that calling Guiness Book of World Records is a good idea (might as well, especially if an event like this has never been heard of). But you may also consider calling HGTV, as they may want to feature your story, if and when it comes to pass. Congratulations and best wishes. thumbs_up.gif

Thank you all so much for you input!

heath & I have both decided that after such a huge positive response from you all, that we are going to move forward with the project!

A few side notes:

1. After considering many of the points brought up by you all regarding the expense of equipment in creating pulled sugar, the logistics of shipping pulled sugar etc, we have decided not to use any pulled sugar for the cake. Since most of you already have gumpaste tools and luster dust and have worked with this medium before it would be much easier to have all the different pieces made from gumpaste.

2. I will be working with Alan at Global Sugar art this week to put together a specific list of colors for luster dust so everything will be consistent.

3. Once I get all the "rules" and details together I will make an official page with all of the data!

4. This is going to be THE MOST amazing experience of my life!
