I have seen a few really great 3-D stand up bottle cakes (Jack Daniels is what I was looking for) Although I think I can figure out how to construct the cake itself, how to cover such a cake in fondant is beyond my imagination. I am proficient with fondant but I can't see where to start with a bottle. I would love to be sent to a "HOW TO" tutorial or given instructions. If any one could tell me where and how to look for one, or just tell me how, that would be great.

I haven't done a JD cake, but the corona bottle in my pics, I covered in two parts.. I rolled out my yellow fondant, cut it to approximate size, rolled it up on my rolling pin and turned the rolling pin handle up and kinda un-rolled it around the cake like when wrapping your leg with a bandage if you get my drift... icon_smile.gif Then I added the white part on the top in the same manner.. Good luck!! I wanna see pictures!!

If I remember right, their is a tutorial on sugar buzz .com
It takes a little while to become a member if you are not one already. I used to be a member, but when I went to find that tutorial I could not log on. I had to re register. I am pretty sure that is where it is, I think it is a baileys Irish cream bottle.

I am making a Jack Daniels cake for a wedding show this weekend...Never made one before, but that's not stopping me! So far ive stacked squares cut from a sheet cake, and then I carved the corners to get the diagonal look. I am planning on making the bottleneck from rice krispie treats...Hope it works! Ill post the pics when im done....
