I did a search and didn't find anything so please forgive me if this is a repeat thread.
I have looked at many of the baby belly cake pictures and they all seem rather large. Is everyone using the Wilton Soccer Ball pan as called out in one picture along with the Mini Wonder Pan? Or are there other pans that work just as well?
I used the soccer ball pan for the belly and the Betty Crocker bake and fill center section for the boobs. It worked out really good. HTH
I use the 1/2 ball pan and mini wonder pan. But I end up having to scale back the mini wonder's as they are a bit large for the chest. You could probably just make an 8" cake and carve 2 from that. It may be a pain, but it would work. Or maybe 2 large cupcakes.
Thanks for your replies. I was thinking about using my sports ball pan and my mini ball pan but I think that would make the belly to small.
I think what you are planning on using would work perfectly. At least with the mini ball, you don't have to trim them down to get away from that Dolly look.
Well I do know that when I was pregnant with my kids I did look like Dolly for a while!
I used the sports ball pan and the mini sports ball pan! I thought they looked huge too and ended up cutting them down... but after they just looked lop sided.... which just gives it a more natural look!
I used the soccer ball pan for the belly and the sports ball halves for the boobies. The proportions came out pretty good.

The Wilton Soccer ball pan looked really small in the store, like not much bigger than 6 ". My client didn't order additional cake under the belly just belly on a board, That is going to be a small cake wouldn't you think?
Thanks Brandi
I made my very first one about a month or so ago. I used the half ball pan and the mini ball pan. I ended up adding a little to the mini ball pan in order to get the height that I was looking for in comparison to the half ball pan and I think it turned out pretty well. I put everything on top of a half sheet in order to get the servings that I needed for the shower.
I need to feed about 15, max 20 (the last 5 servings for the pregnant person = me), do you think if I don't hoist up the belly on a flat 8" it would feed everyone ok?
