Lambeth Style cake how to?

Thread Starter
I wanna make the below cake. I have never done this kinda of piping before I I might do some things in fondant. I guess its called lambeth piping?

Does anyone know a good book that shows how to do this? Even wilton? Something? If you have pictures that would be great (i am a visual learner icon_smile.gif )

I emailed the creator of this cake but didn't see any posts and thought someone might know whats going on icon_smile.gif

TIA.

The Well Decorated Cake by Toba Garrett has info on this...don't have it in front of me, but what I see in the picture is in her book.

Unfortunately Toba Garrets book does not have info on the techniques I used on this cake - she writes something about lambeth, but the shown techniques in the book are not so lambeth-y that I would go purchase the book for the sake of learning it.

Lambeth, as you can see in the pic you posted, is a lot of piping, string work, and overpiping. I suggest getting a cake dummy and practice your piping skills on it.

The lady that did the first cake posted in this thread, her name is sif. Here's her website: http://www.gefjonsdottir.com/ She has a gallery full of Lambeth-style cakes and a number of tutorials on how to do this technique as well. Hope that helps some! icon_biggrin.gif
