I am trying to make a cute pair of baby shoes for a boy. I have seen many that I love but have tried unsucessfully to recreate. Any step by step directions out there for a visual person who cant follow directions? I would love to make one, but looks like I might be buying one if I can't get it right. Thank you your help is appreciated!

Well I have made a few sets myself and each time they begin to look better.It is difficult trying for the first time.I use alot of crumpled kleenex to help hold the shape.Patience forsure!! Try letting the fondant sit for about 5 minutes after you cut it out so it sort of hardens slightly..this helps when gluing it together rather than soft fresh wilty fondant that won't hold a shape.I don't use gumpaste in my fondant so it doesn't harden that fast and doesn't really crack after about 5-10 minutes but gumpaste may.After I have managed to get the pieces all together I hold it with kleenex chunks and cotton balls but careful not to touch the wet parts or the kleenex glues/sticks..cotton too! Let it set up for a few days and you should be fine.Hope that helps!

I recently made the booties shown in that tutorial. I add a healthy dose of tylose to my fondant so that it is very stiff. I don't need and objects inserted into the bootie to hold its shape. The tylose provides enough stiffness for it to hold it's own shape.
