I use the same plastic pourer as Kiddie Kakes. I love it!! Wish I would have bought more of them.

I use the ice cream scoop too. It's the top right as well. The size I have is a perfect 1 scoop per cupcake and I scrape the bottom along the mixing bowl on its way out to minimize the mess. Best $ I've spent yet because I do a minimum of 12 dozen per week!

I go the cheap route. I pour all my batter into a ziplock bag, cut the corner and its the fastest, cleanest, easiest and cheapest way I found. I've tried the ice cream scoop, the pastry bag, tge squeeze bottle but those are all way too time consuming and can be messy.

I feel your pain. I was a messy cupcake baker before I tried the ice cream scoop (similar to the top right one you posted) and now I LOVE doing cupcakes. I just scrape the bottom along the edge of the bowl and no drips. I use a size 16 and it fills the pans perfectly. One scoop per hole and I'm good to go!

You guys are so cool! I love CC! icon_lol.gif

I played around again this weekend & (without going out & spending any $$ yet) found something that I think I really like for cupcakes.

It's a pamper chef ... siiigghhh .... icon_rolleyes.gif .... sorry, what was I saying?! icon_confused.gif

Oh yeah! It's a PC measuring scoop, but I know I've seen them in a vairety of sizes (& colors!) at wal-mart. I like how it's only round on the front, this makes it easy for me so scrape off alot of excess batter. & the little inside flap pushes the batter right out of the scoop for me, so I don't have to wait on gravity to pull the batter out! Yeah!

Not that I have anything against gravity, but it just seems so unreliable. It pulls down what you don't want down, yet it doesn't pull what you do want! icon_twisted.gif What can I say though, it was discovered by a man! icon_razz.gif

My DH suggested this as well, but I really want something I can wash & reuse instead of a throw away product. Great minds think alike right?! (my dh is a mad genius btw) icon_wink.gif

New question!

How much batter do you suppose each cup cake liner should be filled with?

I know that the cake directions recommend 2/3 full or something like that, but I am such a bad judge visually. I am more of a #'s kinda girl.

The scoop that I used this weekend is a 2 Tbsp scoop.

I get one cupcake per scoop without squeezing the bottom to get the excess out. But being as I don't know what size my scoop is, I am really of very little help to you. Sorry.

Another one here who uses the ice cream scoop (top right again). I LOVE that thing. I use the large one from PC. (actually I have all three that PC offers). The Large one for cupcakes, the medium for cookie dough, and the small for cake balls.

Oh, gee, schucks! guess I'll just have to order me some PC ice cream scoops won't I?! icon_lol.gif
