Welcome from one newbie to another... I made a cake for my 2 year old grandson last year with spongebob, elmo, curious george, and scooby doo on it. I made 4 eight inch square cakes and stacked them up to form a cube. Then I put one character on each of the four sides. I will try and upload the photo. It was a huge hit at his birthday party.

Or you could do a cake with 4 different squares and on each one you could have a different charachter. Take a look at a couple of my cakes to see what I am talking about...

It's so eazy to achieve this look, and I think it is so unique. Hope this can help create new ideas for you. Good luck!

This may be a bit much but you could maybe do a round cake that is dark blue with the batman logo on the sides, then on top a racing track with Lightning McQueen on it and then in the middle have Elmo bursting out of the cake (or maybe out of a slightly higher tier)?

I just looked at those cakes by luv2cake (they're great). If you wanted to use those, you could do a flat image of McQueen, Elmo and Batman on the lower 3 tiers and stick a figure of each of them standing together on the top tier or even just a big number on the top tier?

I have no idea who or what mcqueen is but what about a open book cake and you can create a story using the three different characters.
